Went there but not overly impress. I know its only raclette or fondue but was expecting better from a local shop restau. diabolo grenadine more expensive then a glass of wine just gave you an idea of getting the money from the tourist.

All the advertising and leaflets led us to believe that this 'temple' was not to be missed for any fan of fromage. As it also has a restaurant serving fondue and raclette it seemed like a chance to get some decent fermier cheese to take home, and dinner at the same time. How wrong we were. We finally found the... I'm not a great fan of cheese, but still wanted to try a raclette at some point. This was the closest place to us that did them, so we went and were surprised to see the "restaurant" virtually empty. I say that in inverted commas because it is more like a hall joined on to a shop and a museum.... More

A typical Savoie cheese shop and restaurant , they serve amazing cheese fondu and rack-let ,all cheese is made there , you buy the best Abondance and Tommy cheese. They also sell a great selection of jams and Marmalades.

Le Temple du Fromage isn't really a restaurant - more a performance space adjoining a great cheese shop a few miles outside Evian. I remembered coming here on an earlier holiday in the Haute-Savoie and enjoying a thoroughly kitschy experience in a packed room with local costumes, music and a huge vat of melted cheese and so insisted to my...
