Wonderful food

We have used this restaurant for about 8 years but have not visited for some time because of covid. We visited the Knowle Brasserie on a Sunday and ordered the special menu which is great value. The starter, main course, rice and nan were great quality. Its so good to find a restaurant that serves quality Indian food. The staff are polite and friendly they make you feel very welcome. We will definitely continue visiting the Knowle Brasserie.

We’re from Balsall common village which is 3 miles away. We’ve tried the 3 Indian restaurants in our village but The knowle Indian restaurant is far better in food and service. Definitely recommend their 4 course deal.

Absolutely beautiful

I went there with 5 other work colleagues upon a recommendation from a friend and they did not disappoint! Especially with how well they dealt with the social distancing and new Covid restrictions. The food was amazing and well presented and the staff were so friendly. I’m returning with my family for my father’s 60th birthday and will continue to recommend to anyone travelling to the area. 5 stars

Appalling Red Curries That Ruined My Night's Sleep

My wife and I ordered some take away curries last night for the first time after reading the reviews on this place and what a mistake that was. I've never seen such red curries, the chef must have tipped a bucket of red colouring into the pot. It tasted as bad as it looked, artificial, lacking in any real flavour but it was the after-effects that really put the wind up me. I spent almost the entire night visiting the bathroom with an upset stomach and vowed never darken the doorstep of Knowle Indian Brasserie ever again. It felt like the bottom had fallen out of my world or more accurately the world had fallen out of my bottom! The only brass they have is the brass-neck to call this place a brasserie in the first place. It most certainly is not, unless you count a pile of red muck that looks almost as bad on the way out of your system as it went in. Avoid like the plague.

Saturday Night Takeaway

Well this is the first time we have used this restaurant for a takeaway. We found the staff very helpful, and easy to order over the phone. We found that the starters were the best part of our meal, as the curries looked better than they tasted. I quite liked the keema rice, and we all agreed that the popadoms were the best we had had for some time . Worth a visit, and would like to try it when the restaurant is open again.

Disappointing considering the competition.

Booked ahead for a table for two. Ended up being shoved out the back next to a fire escape with no view of the restaurant at all. Service as a result was poor as we were forgotten. Food was good but nothing spectacular which rescues this review to a 3. Won’t be returning. Seems like this restaurant depends on regulars; if you don’t often go here, don’t expect much.

A Must Eat!

Visited for a family meal for a change to our usual curry house and this place did not disappoint. Food was delivered fast with both the taste of the dishes and the quality of the meat being to a high standard. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Hard to find such a high quality curry house in the aeea but this place is a must eat stand out!

Absolutely Rubbish !!!!!

First time trying Knowle Indian Brasserie & definitely be the last, worst curry ever. Ordered a delivery arrived on time, containers were leaking with grease all over work top. Ordered two different curry dishes both were identical in colour taste & consistency so bland absolutely tasteless, No authentic Indian spices in these dishes. Starters tasted of nothing. Would definetly not recommend

A hidden gem

We went to the Knowle on the 1st of March as we wanted something different. We were not dissapointed, it was a refreshing change to the usual Indian restaurants we had been to. The food and service was great. Will definitely be going there again.

Amazing food and friendly staff

Went for date night and oh my days! The food was absolutely fantastic! Never have i had chicken that just melts in your mouth and a curry full of flavour! Decent sized portions and prices! Husband is a chef and i have never seen him so speechless in a good way about food. Highly recommend for amazing food and the staff were very friendly and entertaining. Can’t wait to go back again

Valentine's Day Meal

Very nice meal, would go again, steam was coming off the rice it was so hot, never seen that before, brilliant. Nice choice on the menu, food hot and tasty, reasonably priced and cooked on time, licensed bar included. Nice surroundings, clean and tidy too, staff were pretty attentive, all round good evening.

Not as good as it used to be !

I have been going here for many years and the food was good. I went again recently and the food was poorly presented and very bland . The biryani was particularly bad. The chicken tikka sagwala had tiny strips of chicken instead of chunks! I will be looking for a better Indian restaurant.

An unexpected delight

Visiting Knowle for our friends anniversary weekend, not knowing the area, we noticed the Indian Brasserie when we were on our way to Loki wines. As we were passing we decided to take a chance and book a table. We weren’t disappointed!!! The food quality and service were excellent! We had the banquet for 4 and it was great value for money!! Absolutely delicious!!

Great Staff Great food

First time visiting this restaurant and if we are in Knowle again we will be back. We had not booked but the friendly team set us up by the bar for a drink till a table was ready. Once a table was available all the waiters were attentive and friendly. The food was not rushed and tasted great. The whole experience made us feel welcome . Great food great atmosphere and reasonably priced.
