Take the loaded poutine with minced meat and sausage, their meat sandwiches are great. Best Poutine in Quebec if you ask me. A must visit if you are in Quebec!

My husband and I wanted to try a poutine when in Quebec City so were advised to head to Ashton's. This will probably our first and last poutine, an acquired taste I think, thought the cheese would melt a little but no, anyway a must do when in Quebec City.
We wanted to experience the Quebec poutine and many had written that Ashton's was the best. The french fries and the gravy are excellent however the cheese curds do not melt. I'm not actually sure what kind of cheese that is because even when exposed to extreme heat, the cheese remains solid. It rather tasteless and rubbery.
Every time I visit Quebec City I have to go to Ashton for a good burger and original poutine. The last time I had the burger: excellent and tasty as usual, with fries. My wife had poutine: I tasted some and it was excellent as usual. A local institution!
