Three course lunch with a glass of wine or beer for 19.99 CAD cannot be beaten. Service was excellent and food very good in this charming old restaurant. The beer was Boreal and the glass of rosé produced at a local Quebec winery. Highly recommended!

While the menu seems a little overwhelming to people the service staff do an excellent job assisting in your ordering. This is an excellent opportunity to experience old-style Canadian food (sort of a mix between French and English dishes). The prix-fixe menu had great options...More

In this place everything is perfect. The food is excellent, the waiters are polite and nice, everything is coming in time without rushing you. The food is traditional for the Quebec area and very testy. The waiters very well educate and fluent both in French...More

We were here, of course, because of the history associated with the building and the restaurant. It is pretty cool to eat somewhere as old as this. We went for the three-course meal that was before dinner time. Everything about the meal was excellent. The...More

At 1745, we walked to Aux Anciens Canadian for dinner. Lyd ordered a Vodka Martini (12.95) and I had a pair of Basil Hayden Manhattans (15.95) which were excellent, and the right color! Though a prixfix, prepaid dinner, we elected additions. Lyd elected a crab...More

Lunch was a fixed price ( reasonable in a city where dining out is expensive) for wine or beer, appetizer, entree and dessert. Well worth every penny. Our entrees were bison meat pie and slivers of pork tenderloin. Both were perfectly prepared.

Well the oldest restaurant in Canada, the place is small but nice and the food is delicious. This is a must if you are in Old Quebec!

This is an experience. It's not the best food in the city, but the combination of the authentic Canadian food, the cool, historic building, and pleasant service make it a must-do in Old Town. We were told that this is the ONLY truly authentic Canadian...More

Popped in here for lunch while on our honeymoon. Food was delicious. Had lobster bisque, lamb, poutine, and duck confit salad. Service was great also. Air conditioning, not a long wait for food. Warm fresh bread served. Would visit again.

I did not have the poutine although Suspect each restaurant has its own version. Poutine has gone way beyond the fries, gravy and basic cheese curds of yesteryear.

Sorry I just saw your question. Reservations are recommended during the peak season but mid-week might me ok.
