If you want a rotisserie chicken, this place has been around for many years. We all knew each other in this community, and many times we would have Chicken from there for our Sunday's lunches. Still, after 50 years we still buy chicken here and bring it home for Sunday lunch with my grandparents.

The rotisserie chicken was moist and is served with an option of tasty spicy or mild sauce. The spicy sauce was not too spicy just enough zing. The roasted potatoes tasty while their macaroni salad was soso. Small dine in area with no service.

Coco Rico management are extremely kind and helpful! They provided us with last minute catering and it was absolutely delicious. Everyone raved about their chicken and potatoes. We would love to work with Coco Rico again in the future. Regards, Borderless World Volunteers

Perfect chicken sandwiches! The ribs are also very good and the roasted potatoes just wow!!!!! You can also buy a bread there which is very good! It's a good easy on the good Portuguese restaurant, you can do a take out or eat at the counter along the wall.

Prices are good: $6.47 for about three ribs and 1.80 for wings. The wings were extremely dry but I should have known that and they are so cheap so you get what you pay for. I would skip the BBQ sauce, or get it on the side because the flavor was so good. Not much seating, just stools that face... More

One of the best Portuguese bbq places in Canada (better than most in Toronto which is better known for them) and worth a stop into when walking on the Plateau. Most will probably go to nearby Schwartz's instead, but this place has great food for those not wanting to wait for an hour in line.

Tasty food and friendly service. No frills, small counter for eating in, but mainly a takeout place. Delicious roasted chicken, ribs, and potatoes. Garlic sauce and spicy sauce added if you want. Variety of plates and combos with a few sides. Good pickles and rolls.

Believe it or not, our visits to Coco rico are usually just for the portugese pasties called pasteis de Nata. Also, we have had the chicken a couple times and it's very good and reasonably priced. However, make sure to get the Nata's, as I think they give some of the pastry shops we've visited in Portugal a run for... More

This is definitely a local place. The service is great. There is limited seating at a counter against the wall. It is worth finding since the chicken and potatoes are great. We had been here 4 years ago and did not remember the name and found it making my wife very happy

The food is delicious and easy for take out, so great for bringing to the park. Their chicken is so tender, and it all comes at a great price!

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
