A small neighborhood restaurant that grew in fame. Their menu changes often, based on fresh market availability. Wonderful, creative, original food combinations and flavours. Their private import wines are equally good. The service is friendly and attentive. Many people wonder about the strange name. I was told "Les Deux Singes de Montarvie" was a painting that was brought from France... More

This was my second visit to Les Deux Singes and it does not disappointment. I went with friends and had the regular, the pescatarian and vegetarian tasting menus with the wine pairings. Everything was fantastic. Our server was great, very knowledgable, accommodating and never intrusive. We'll be back the next time we're in Montreal!

It was a tasting menu only, but with a vegetarian option. Lovely staff, with a nice feel and amazing combinations of flavours and textures. Inventive but wholesome.

This is a favorite. Every dish was amazing. The dishes were not only tasty but looked beautiful. I am not one to take pictures of my food, but I couldn't resist. The presentations are works of art. More importantly the food is absolutely delicious. Every single dish, we had many, was fantastic. Service was fantastic and very friendly. Can't recommend... More

Excellent food, wine and service. An exceptional meal. Clean clear flavours with ingredients that stand out and yet compliment each other. We didn't have the matched wines rather selecting from the very fine wine list and the advice of the knowledgable staff. A highlight of my visit to Montreal

Our evening at Les Deux Singes de Montarvie was perfect. The restaurant was calm and cozy. I liked the atmosphere, it was very small and very pleasant. The restaurant wasn't very busy, which was surprising because it was a Saturday evening and we had to make our reservation 2 months in advance in order to get a table that day.... More

This wonderful restaurant is all about incredible food and amazing service. The setting is casual but comfortable. The first thing we noticed was a beautiful tray of micro greens being grown on a kitchen counter. We were able to choose between a tasting menu for Canadian $75 or a vegetarian menu for Canadian$50. Every single thing they brought us was... More

Two years ago I booked a table here for my wife's birthday and had one of the best meals of my life. This year, same occasion, same venue, and we had a very nice time, although not quite as spectacular as in 2015. The four-course tasting menu costs $65 Canadian and for an extra $30 you can add wine pairings.... More

My husband and I had a delicious dinner tonight! The chef's creations felt like Christmas morning. Each course was a wonderful present to unwrap. We also did the wine pairing- worth it! Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. He explained ever course and wine with great description. The atmosphere was warm and cozy. This is a restaurant that will bring... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
