I went here for dinner with my family, and we had a really wonderful time. The host was so lovely, welcoming, and funny- he totally made our evening. Our food was absolutely delicious. We had butter chicken, aloo gobi, lamb curry, some appetizers, drinks, and an assortment of momos (dumplings). Everything was wonderful. We highly recommend the butter chicken and... More

We'd never been to a Tibetan restaurant. There were 5 kids in our group. The manager / owner patiently guided our meal choices and prepared the kids' dishes to a level of spiciness they enjoyed.

My boyfriend and I love going to OM. The Tibetan soup are great and the tibetan sweet fried bread is amazing (I just can't remember the name). This is not fancy food, but everything is delicious and the service is always very friendly.

We weren't looking for Tibetan or Indian food at all. We are Chinese. So eating Chinese food in a Tibetan restaurant wasn't appealing either. However, we were pleasantly surprised. We ordered the Tibetan tea, which was salty and had butter in it. My husband, who's always adventurous with food, enjoyed it. The dishes we ordered were the Momos (dumplings) sampler,... More

We ordered their version of butter chicken and Gulb Jamin. We come from the Indian capital of Canada and have enjoy these foods many times at restaurants and with Indian friends. The butter chicken did not taste remotely like butter chicken. The chicken pieces had a rubbery texture and the Gulb Jamin were cold and hard. When we questioned the... More

Check out the momos, little steamed dumplings with meat, shrimp, or vegetarian fillings. Good curries too. Excellent comfort food.

Tibetan food is a nice combination of Chinese and Indian cuisines. The Tibetan momos at this restaurant are outstanding. We started with the Dal soup. Delicious lentil flavor with mild curry flavoring. The mild was a nice surprise, since it didn't overpower the lentil flavor at all. The shrimp salad course was refreshing. We ordered the cheese and the vegetarian... More

My husband and I were craving Indian food and we ended up eating here, having enjoyed Tibetan restaurants at home. We started with the momo sampler (one beef, one veggie and one sweet). We really liked the beef ones and wished we had ordered more! I also got a mango lassi, which was probably the best one I've ever had.... More

The momos (dumplings) are incredible, the Sha Ka Tsa was amazing. Everything is made from fresh ingredients and the service is perfect! This was my first experience with Tibetan cuisine and I really liked it. They also serve a good selection of Indian food.

Excellent food experience at Om. I had never eaten Tibetan before, and was pleasantly surprise by the complexity of flavors! Our first waiter explained the menu in detail to our group of six, describing the dishes we were unfamiliar with and making suggestions as to how we might get the most out of our choices. We ordered a bit of... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
