This concept is rare in Montreal but they have a Medieval theme restaurant. Very good service, but expect to yell for your food and beer...and...no forks (they didn't exist in the Medieval ages). They serve boar meat. Delicious. Expect to pay extra when they have musicians to create an atmosphere similar to bars in the medieval...

I took my fiancé for dinner as a surprise. We were visiting Montreal for only a short time and wanted each experience to be memorable. The Auberge Du Dragon rouge did Not disappoint.

Party like an old French Fur Trapper! Eat the marvelously sticky boar's ribs with your hands; pound on the heavy wood table to show your appreciation for the troubadours; laugh at the French jokes you don't understand and have an absolutely wonderful time doing it. Off the beaten track but very well worth it. Crazy. Loud. But good-natured fun. I... More

Even though I couldn't get a word of what they were saying, being a native Spanish speaker, I had the time of my life in here. The food was perfect, the service even better. You really feel welcomed. Good with family but better with your buddies.

Every visit is an adventure. For a birthday, family fun or even to meet people. The experience upstairs is worth it if you have a large enough group.

We spent the evening upstairs (= special event) with my two kids and partner. The supper was a 3-hours long theatrical performance during which our meal was entertained by actors in middle-ages dresses. The whole place is very nice, the food is original (e.g. our meal was different plates mostly made of boar). It was a memorable evening (even more... More

If you ever find yourself in Montreal this place is a must. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is a hoot!! The theme is medieval and all the staff dress in costume and are in character. As a non French speaker I did not understand a lot of what was said when staff were addressing the entire restaurant but... More

Food was outstanding - it was more expensive than other restaurants but lived up to it's billing. Atmosphere was fun, staff REALLY get into the experience and were more than willing to help us "saxons" with interpreting the menu. the Game Pie was absolutely fabulous, cinnamon on house fried potato chips, "dragon" chicken wings were spicy and tasty. Had a... More

** NO CREDIT CARDS ACCEPTED ** Always nice to go to the Auberge. Ambiance is great, and so is the food. Can be a little pricey (costs us $50 per person for basic food and drinks) but worth the experience occasionally. Arrive early (line outside starts being long at 4pm). There are charges for the musicians there. Be prepared for... More

Description
For the past 23 years we've been feasting and drinking with wild merriment!
Wild boar is the house speciality. Ale and mead will help you go through our "gargantuan" servings. Every night there is musician to liven up the atmosphere.

Up early? We serve "break fast" saturdays and sundays morning. Ever try wild boar bacon or dragon's egg?!? It's a must!

Come summer time we have a superb terrace to enjoy the sunny days.

Born out of mind of a "gamer" (D&D and the like), L'Auberge du Dragon Rouge as become a destination for feasting and drinking plenty!
