When we arrived about 11:30, there was already a line, but we only had to wait about 5-10 minutes to get two seats at the bar. Once we ordered, our food arrived in less than 5 minutes. The waiter was very helpful explaining things to...More

We had read the hype about Schwartz's and there was long line to get in, but coming from New York, it was a real disappointment. The turkey was deli turkey, not fresh turkey like you would get at a real delicatessen. They used yellow mustard...More

Well worth the long queues, for a meal to remember. The smoked meat is unbelievable and the portions are almost to much to eat.

Denizens of the Plateau will never go to Schwartz's during lunch, supper, before or after football or hockey games. I prefer the evenings after about ten at night when there are plenty of tables and less posers and gawkers. The smoked meat still the best...More

At one time, Schwartz was the best in town for smoked meat. Then came Celine Dion's restaurant called Nickels Grill & Bar to compete with Schwartz and served their own type of smoked meat. To this day, I must admit that it was different but...More

Can't come to Montreal without trying out the famous smoked meat ( pastrami) as they call it in the states at Schwartz's. Messy eat but soooo good and definitely worth it. They often have line ups but it's ok, you won't regret the experience. Enjoy!!
