The atmosphere is nice however you must walk up stairs so not wheelchair or reduced mobility friendly. The service was friendly and attentive. The food however, was not nearly as good. The arancini were dry. The Spaghetti carbonara was inedible and disgusting (both my sister and I wouldn't even eat more than one bite. I had to share my veal... More

I came here with my boyfriend for the first time. The food, service and atmosphere was awesome! We loved everything we ordered. The manager came and checked on us to make sure everything was good a few times. He was very friendly and even walked us out at the end of the night. I highly recommend this place.

The food was excellent, and not over-salted, a rarity these days. I had one of the specials, pork shank, and it almost could have been shared. The glass of chianti that I ordered with it was a good one, and I started with the mixed salad which also was excellent. The other appetizers were quite creative but expensive. The service... More

My husband and I have been visiting Montreal for 15 years, and always look forward to our dining experiences there - but our Sunday evening visit to Bis was memorable on several levels. The hospitable welcome, friendly and extremely professional service, and soothing, tasteful interior design were matched by the food - simply excellent, with soul-satisfying "true" flavors expressive of... My best friend and I were greeted by the owner and the maitre'd upon arrival, we were made very comfortable in there professional yet intimate setting. I ordered a pasta dish from the menu and have to... More

We ask our hotel concierge about a place to dine and she suggested this restaurant. The restaurant was pretty busy, food was pretty good, but we were very rushed.

I was so impressed by the service, the atmosphere, the food, the drinks here! This is true Italian fine dinning, and I would highly recommend this restaurant. We are returning to Montreal in January and we will definitely be dinning here again! Thank you Marcello!

Fabulous service from start to finish provided us with a memorable experience. Amuse Bouche, fresh walnuts with a nutcracker and to finish mini biscoti all were unexpected extras. Fabulous dishes, ample variety!

Staying in Centre-Ville (Downtown)

Neighbourhood Profile
Centre-Ville (Downtown)
Montreal's towering skyline is concentrated in the Downtown area, its nexus of commerce and commercialism. A suffusion of luxury hotels, flagship stores, high-end restaurants, and corporate headquarters characterize the neighborhood, which by nightfall transforms from a business district into a youth-culture hotspot, with hip bars, clubs, and restaurants heavily peopled by students and young professionals. The once-seat of millionaire's 'Golden Square Mile', an incongruity of stately mansions and dapper brownstones sit between glass skyscrapers, creating a visually lush urban landscape. Beneath the sidewalks lay the Underground City, the world's largest below-ground mall, a labyrinth of over 1,500 shops and eateries that echo the profusion of cafes, gallerias, cinemas, and fashion outlets above. From the scholarly array at McGill University to the carousing crowds of Rue Crescent, visit Downtown to shop by day for what you'll wear there by night.
