I use to eat at the Le Muscadin while I live in Montreal on a regular basis. There is no better Italian restaraurant in Montreal. Leo, his associates and his staff make you feel like at home. The service, the food and the ambiance is the best one can ask for a romantic evening, a business gathering or any other... More

Was invited as part of a large group of about 20 for dinner. Set menu with pasta, broiled fish, salads and desserts. All excellent, great presentation, excellent service and great wine too. Would highly recommend. Will definitely be back.

Went to Le Muscadin as a last-minute choice, as the place we had planned to eat was a cab ride away, and we wanted to stay close to our hotel. Serendipity! Excellent compromise between family-run Red Sauce Italian and the typical ultra-contemporary "Northern Italian" brand. Prompt, professional service. Excellent appetizers, salads, entrees. Pasta Carbonara prepared the way it should be.... More

Le Muscadin has traditional, almost dated-looking decor and provided live music on the night we dined. The roaming guitarist added a nice touch to the atmosphere but only sang to certain tables and the restaurant was only a 1/3 full. Well okay, fine, don't sing to us - we'll sing to each other. The food was good. Loved our vegetable... More

Needed an early dinner at a spot near our hotel, to accommodate a very early morning flight, and the great reviews on TripAdvisor convinced us that Le Muscadin would be ideal. We were greeted effusively by the host and whisked to a table in an otherwise-empty sector of the dining room, which was partitioned into several different areas that allowed... More

We have never been disappointed at Le Muscadin and they always exceed our expectations. We started with a cocktail....the Bloody Caesar and old fashion Manhattan are prepared to perfection. We then had "antipasto Misto Le Muscadin", you must try this appetizer. It is a assortment of cold cuts, cheese, grilled vegetables, grilled shrimp and fried calamari ( which are awesome).... More

Beautiful restaurant with an extensive Italian wine list. Service was excellent. Dover Sole was a highlight and well presented. Others did not enjoy their classic Italian dishes.

This is not the place I've been to in the past. This time around we were a group of couples. I new it was pricey as I've been a number of times. It was the first time for a couple of folks. They offer free parking at a lot next door but you need to go into the restaurant and... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
