He went to Marven's for a quick dinner and let me tell you this. First of all the calamari was amazing along with our main dishes which was the souvlaki. Service was among the worst ever. I asked for certain things to go and they made me pack it myself. We tried constantly to get her attention but she would... More

Great family place where everyone is treated so very well Today we had the Calamari and a steak... the calamari were tender and the steaks (medium rare) was just amazing. Again the food was great but Steka's service made it all worth while. The best place for the buck in Montreal

We went over there today and that's like the worse restaurants we have ever been to. The food was soo salty, rice was under cooked and one of the chicken dishes that we ordered was burned. Most of all the customer service was soooo horible.we didn't feel like tipping the waiter who served us. Bad bad service .I will not... More

Marven's is a throwback place. Casual only begins to tell the tale. Tables on top of one another, fire code regulations greatly violated, no decor to speak of. Noisy, and cash only. so why is it so crowded and had a long line waiting to get in when we went? It's the food. Greek with a Quebec twist. On local... More

I have heard about this place from many friends. Best Greek in Montreal, they say, and you have to line up but it is worth it, they say, and the service is great, fast and cheerful, they say; well, guess what? I made it there at last, and it is all true! Excellent experience, we had eyes bigger than our... More

Quite out of the way from near-by busy Jean Talon street this restaurant is always crowded with families and locals. The food is superb, especially the calamari. Service is friendly and efficient, even with the crowd. As for the ambiance, it's typical family style. We suspect many patrons come from far away as the price list is a bit over... More

Went on a weekday evening. Parking was easy to find in the neighboring streets. The restaurant had plenty of tables, however there was a special (?) smokey environment in the dining room, no weird odor or tobacco smell but it felt special. Had a combo souvlaki plate (stick with gyro) and my friend had the same. The gyros were good,... More

Best calamari in montreal . Nice family and friendly place . Feel free to act like your home. Waiters are the typical greek canadien guys at its best . I really like it . The draft beer is the best . Very tasty and light .

I had better Greek food than here. It was very busy and service was slow. The waiter was friendly but when we asked the tube on table was for rice he said "Yes" so we thought it was some time of gravy but it was Salad dressing! The rice after dressing tasted very sour and horrible. Rice was dry and... More

Staying in Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension

Neighbourhood Profile
Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension
The most ethnically diverse of all of Montreal's neighbourhoods, Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension (or, Parc-Ex) stands at the city's centre, a hub for rail and metro traffic. Starting at the old station where the Canadian Pacific used to disembark, the brick-and-mortar surroundings of Parc-Ex have a homey feel, with leafy lawns and bicycle lanes seamlessly incorporated into the landscape. With prominent Greek and Spanish communities, Greektown includes the tastiest stops for brochettes and shawarma, and local bars entertain an excitable soccer fanbase. Jerry Park and Stade Uniprix stand ready for sports diehards to enjoy a game, while the the Complexe Environnemental Saint-Michel and Le Taz skate parks invite athletes to train and compete. Though built for the active and best by day, Cirque du Soleil, the TOHU center for arts, and the Le Boulevard shopping centre offer diversions for those who wish to stay late.
