I are breakfast here twice as it is inside the hotel we were staying at. Buffet breaky was pretty decent, no complaints and the service was very good. I did have some hot and sour soup for dinner one night with some General Tsao chicken. Neither was very good. Neither was very spicy so perhaps I would pass on dinner... More

Disappointed in the Holiday Inn to have this place as the restaurant in downtown Montreal. The food here is over priced and below avg. A basic club sandwich was served bland, soaked in mayo etc. Breakfast buffet was avg, had vouchers for breakfast so we took advantage of it but I would not pay the $17.99 per person for it.

Located in Chinatown's Holiday Inn, this fine restaurant was a great place for a relaxing dinner after a busy day of touring. While a little pricey, they do accept Entertainment on-line coupons which make it a great value too. Must try the Shanghai chicken.

Came for Sunday dim sum . Reserved but at 12:30 the place was practically empty. We had a nice table next to koi pond. There are no carts with dim sum so you order from the menu and everything arrives at the same time. Food was ok. They do offer to validate parking for 3 hours at the hotel if... More

I went here for breakfast because I was staying in the hotel. My entire family was staying there because we had a funeral to attend, however their breakfast was free with their stay, while mine was not. This was fine, for a free breakfast. But the next time I stay at this hotel, I will do some research as to... More

The food here is very good if you are into Chinese. It is a beautiful restaurant with a huge koi pond rambling throughout. The wait staff and especially the maitre'd (a tall Frenchman with dark glasses) were very friendly. Highly recommend.

Had supper here and got to sit under the pagoda by the fish pond. The manager is very accommodating and fun as was our waiter Patrice. The menu was quite different then any other Chines restaurant we had been to, but we did find some things to eat from it. The spring rolls are excellent and try them with the... More

This was truly some of the worst food I have ever been served. The fried tofu was so salty it could have been used as a salt lick. The spring rolls might have been frozen at some time in their past. Do not go here. It has a very limited a la carte menu for dinner; there are five or... More

Worst French Onion soup ever and my husbands "crab cakes" looked like a frozen fish patty and tasted even worse. Step outside the hotel, go up the hill and eat real Chinese food in Chinatown!

Had to eat here because we were staying at the Holiday Inn Select which is where this restaurant is. And that is where you get your 'free' breakfast. $15-ish dollars for this alleged free breakfast of cold-old taters, milk+cereal, burnt coffee, stir-fry noodles (yeah, start your day off with a heart attack on a plate, why don't you!?) rough muffins.... Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Bakeries, markets, restaurants, and buffets crowd the brightly graffitied streets of Chinatown, the city's aromatic destination for pan-Asian cuisine. Distinguished at its entry points by towering vermillion paifang gates, the compact neighbourhood acts as a focal point for the Chinese community, hectic with educational facilities, cultural centres, acupuncturists, and foreign-language newspapers. Especially vibrant in the warmer months, when the sweet smell of dragon beard candy along the pedestrian walks of Rue de la Gauchetière signal the beginning of the outdoor street fair season, Chinatown is a treasure hunter's dream, with enough knickknack and curiosity shops to tempt even the pickiest shoppers. The convivial vibe picks up after dark, when the area's active nightlife offers evening crowds their choice of drink, dance, and midnight snacks of pho or oysters. Chinatown's mix of new and old, with herbal remedies being sold alongside pop-culture DVDs, gives the area its own animated brand of moxie.
