My favorite Indian restaurant. You can pass right bye it and not notice it. My spouse and I Incidentally stumbled upon it when we decided to dine at the place we first met. It was a greek restaurant back in the year 2000. We, whom are Indian food lovers were pleasantly surprised. The service is authentic and the food just!... More

Tandoori chicken was Gould but definitely the worst sag paneer I have ever had. Don't let the wonderful smell outside draw you in. There has to be better Indian in Montreal.

Very small restaurant with limited seating. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Many vegetarian options. Food was delicious. They do not serve alcohol, but they do allow you to bring in wine or beer and they will serve it for you.

This is definitely not our favourite Indian spot in Montreal-- but for a bring your own wine on Mont Royal, I don't think it's as bad as some of the reviews say. The food was freshly prepared the night our party of 4 was there. And as for ”bland”, I ordered the spiciest dish on the menu and it was... More

My husband and I ordered takeout from here so I can't comment on the service but the food was terrible. Oily and bland. Butter chicken was fluorescent orange and full of sugar. We couldn't even finish it. What a shame.

A small cosy indian restaurant in the heart of Mont Royal, its so small that you might pass by and not notice the place, but the smell of spices will lead the way.The food is good and spicy and the price is very reasonable around twenty dollars per person. The service is great like you might notice in all other... More

We walked in off the street and were seated in the very cramped dining area. The service was good. The food... not so much. The Onion Bhaji we ordered to start with was nice, though the dipping sauce was unmemorable. Then our mains came... I ordered an aloo gobhi and my husband a chicken korma. Our all time favourites... at... More

As an indian food lover I advise that you avoid this place at all cost. The price is really cheap and so is the food. The chicken tikka and the chicken masala were totally tasteless. The naan were greasy. Although, the service was excellent. The waiter was a good adviser and really entertaining and made our experience a little better.... More

If you've got an urge for indian food and don't want to get off your couch, this is a decent option. However, set your expectations accordingly: the naan tastes like pizza dough, the samosas are very greasy and the biryani is dry and low on filling... Some winning attributes: it's cheap, delivery was fast and they take credit. There are... More

The place is so good! I went there twice. Once i ordered the dhal soup(it is prepared with coriander) and it was delicious and as a main course i ordered the chicken vindaloo. It was extremely hot but extremely tasty too. (Don't worry, the waiter will warn you if the dish your ordered is hot and is clearly marked on... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
