We went to a wedding ceremony performed here on October 8th. I hadn't been here in about 50 years. The ceremony was outside on a cold rainy day but you forgot all about that thanks to Simon the official who performed the ceremony. The reception was held inside in a reserved section where the staff really outdid themselves especially Ian.... More

Nice work of art with food prep. High class and good quality. Great location right in the good area of lively parc Lafontaine. Outdoor area is the one we always go for. Professional staff.

No English language menu here. So I was surprised when my plat comprised only duck with stewed cranberries and an excellent salad. I think I misinterpreted the French for cranberries as potatoes. If you want a square meal, in addition to your plat, you are advised to order an entree (appetizer) or side dish or both. Dining al fresco was... More

I reserved a part of one of the outdoor wings of this restaurant for a birthday celebration and it was delightful. Great to be outside in summer, but with a roof overhead in case of a little rain. Low-stress organisation-wise. Unlike most outdoor patios, here there are no cars within sight or hearing and the patio overlooks a little lake... More

On a cold Sunday morning we trudge our way from the Old Port to La Fontaine Park in hopes of skating. We take the Metro to the Sherbrook stop and then take to the streets. A biting wind stings our faces as we trek our way to the Park. Made a few minutes longer by my instance that the park... More

Pleasant brunch menu at this restaurant located in the middle of Park LaFontaine. Brunch items and light sandwiches with beer and wine available. Great to sit and watch the city relaxing in the park. We had the egg Benedict with smoked salmon and a smoked salmon with caper open faced sandwich. Both were accompanied with a fresh fruit salad. Good... More

If you find yourself in the neighbourhood, a pleasant lunch or coffee near the pond. On a nice day you can sit on the terrasse with a park view. Food is OK, my wife's salmon was not overcooked, my salad was nothing special. The iced tea was house-made. The server was overworked but cheery.

My son and daughter in law were married here last fall. The venue was beautiful, the food was great. Suzanne and her staff did everything to make the evening perfect. Guests had a wonderful time. Merci!!

To cap off our conference we have an event at Espace La Fontaine and were not disappointed. The setting was gorgeous, the food was great, and the service was friendly. We were outdoors in a covered walk-way, which comfortably held 50 banquet-goers, a three-piece ensemble, and a spot for outdoor cooking. While we were having our event, there were two... More

Never ate inside, always been sitting outside enjoying the park. Inside looks nice and modern. Classic french bistro style food - duck confit, parmentier - that is good, not more not less. You go there for the spot and should not be disappointed. Service definitely not fast.

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colourful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
