I love it here ... it's cozy and different. Seating is upstairs and pretty small, but it has odd and end pieces that make it very interesting. Great sandwiches and pastries and good coffee.

I'm reluctant to review this treasure. It's the kind of place you want to share, but hope doesn't become *too* popular. I'm writing this as I sit in the upstairs eating area- about 10 tables, a few comfy couches, an old piano, brick walls, hardwood floor, people talking quietly as they eat the amazing food from the *patisserie* downstairs. Fantastic bakery! I came in to buy a chocolate croissant, and left with croissants, baguettes, sandwiches and a pear-chocolate tarte! The food was amazing! I highly recommend it!

Their breads are amazing, especially the olive Fougas. Every time I buy one, I finish half of it by the time I'm home!

Fast, convenient, practical and nothing out of the ordinary. In terms of cleanliness,I've seen cleaner places.Service is basic. The upstairs section of the bakery has seats and a piano with boardgames- which adds to the concept and makes it fun. Duc de la Lorraine is much better in terms of taste, quality, vibe and price.

Went there to try the cannelés and they are absolutely wonderful. Best in the city. Bakery was full. I had never been there but had read a review on the cannelés so decided to try them.

This is a real find, especially for a visitor from an England without such wonderful places. The range of bread is fantastic...I loved the ficel with mushroom and cheese and the Chia and Apple loaf. The croissant was the best I have had anywhere, and I have trVelled a lot in France. I took the croissant and a coffee upstairs... More

Patisserie/Boulangerie with variety of breads, tarts and desserts. Their large brioche which is available only on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, is worth ordering ahead. Delicious, sweet, melt in your mouth texture. The apricot tart was very tasty but unfortunately the pie crust was tough. Tends to get very busy so go early in the day to ensure best choice.

I walked by this bakery a number of times and never had the opportunity to go in. But one day, I made it my mission. I visited the one that is on St Denis and it was incredible. You can see the pastries being made right in front of your face and they sure do taste incredibly fresh and delicious.... More

Staying in Outremont

Neighbourhood Profile
Outremont, a quaint residential district just north of Downtown, is a peaceful, low-key setting known for its mod cafes and bistros, and some of the best walking territory Montreal has to offer. Visitors can explore the flowering parks and manor estates of Maplewood Street, then window-shop the popular bakeries and coffeehouses on main arteries of Chemin de la Côte-Sainte-Catherine and Rue Van Horne. The modern granola feel is complemented by contemporary art exhibitions, rotating theatre productions, and a welcoming public library. Also a nexus for the city's Hasidic Jewish culture, Outremont's diversity resounds in its cuisine and in its architecture. Visit the colorful neighbourhood to take advantage of boutique shopping on Avenue Laurier, or to test the artisanal flavors of Avenue Bernard, braving a salmon burger on a squid-ink bun or accommodating your sweet tooth with a provincial chômeur pudding. A visit to Outremont is a relaxing day.
