Went to this restaurant that I had heard so many wonderful things about. I'm sorry to say that I was disappointed. No appetizers available and the menu had 10 items on it. I had the jerk chicken and it was blah...not terrible but certainly nothing special. The air conditioning was on low and the staff didn't know how to turn... More

I live in Montreal love to eat, I have been to Anancy many times over the years, no problem finding the place, parking accessible on the street in a pretty safe neighbourhood of NDG. They have a variety of traditional Jamaican meals. First time I tried the pumpkin soup I thought I was in heaven! good portions and a nice... More

The staff seemed genuinely surprised to see us (we were the only customers). Two men were sitting outside chatting (seemed to be somehow related to the folks working inside). Were asked if we had called ahead, which I did not understand. The waitress mentioned that the situation was so because they had just reopened but I did not notice renovations... More

We ordered delivery from this restaurant twice and we will never make that mistake again. Both times, the food was tasty, but they were seriously late. They told us it would be 45 minutes, but the first time it took 1 hour 15 minutes, and the second time it took 1 hour 45 minutes! We had seriously hungry kids by... More

First time went to a Jamaican restaurant in Montreal. Wow! Was I ever impressed. Nothing fancy but just good homemade caribbean cuisine. Its bring your own wine. We started with an entree of fried calamari, chicken wings and fried fish patties. Then we had pumpkin soup. Main meal was the boneless jerk chicken which comes with rice and two plantains.... More

My boyfriend and I love trying new places in Montreal and have been pleasantly surprised by the Jamaican restaurants in Montreal... But not this one. My roti wasn't terrible, but it wasn't anything special. It didn't have any flavour at all. My boyfriend's jerk chicken was definitely forgettable. We wouldn't go back.

Went there for dinner, nice, cute and charming and very clean. It feels very homey. It's a "bring your own wine", which makes it very appealing. The portions are very generous and tasty. Some people may say their plates lack spices, but we're in MTL, you have to cater to all; I'm sure if you ask they can spice it... More

Was rushing for work so I did a take-away as there was no time for me to finish my meal if I had stayed to eat. The atmosphere was great - patrons at the time being mainly of West Indian origin listening to some nice Caribbean vibes on the speakers as we waited for our orders. I had a chicken... More

Entering Anancy is like being invited into someone's home. I went there on a cold Sunday afternoon, and was greeted by the aromas emanating from the kitchen; my mouth started to water! I chose the entree which started with a soup (chicken or pumpkin, I had the latter), followed by curry chicken with a side of rice and peas (one... More

I haven't been here in a while, so it was nice to go and find the food better than I remembered it. I had the salt fish and ackee (because they did not have any stew chicken which was my first choice). It was a very generous serving - people often skimp on the ackee but they did not. Delicous....
