Top notch experience from the moment we arrived. Attentive service, good suggestions for the food and drinks. And what a meal! We loved the fattoush salad, the tapa- style dips (including the hummus) and the lamb confît. We would return anytime!

This restaurant is always packed so it is best to make a reservation before heading out. Spacious yet cosy with two bar counters, it has the chic bistro look. We were a group of four and decided to order and share only appetizers and wherever there were only three portions of an item we added an extra one. We shared:... More

If you like Syrian or Middle East food this is the place. They have exquisite recipes and the best chefs to prepare them. All the plates were well presented & explained by all waiters. Service and ambiance just perfect. We had been trying to get a reservation for so long we were not disappointed. Make a reservation a long time... More

Amazing for special occasions, but not for your occasional Syrian food cravings! For that, I would go to Alep or "Le petit Alep" (same owner, one is sit down, the other is more fast-ffod with less items on the menu). The food is also delicious there but you won't get the same dining experience as Damas if that's what you... More

The food was superb! Loved everything and would go back in a heart beat. Tasting menu was amazing. Next time I would order a bunch of appetizers and share. Main courses are large and can be shared as well!

We thoroughly enjoyed the evening dinner there. Service was very good, and the food was very good. The waiter explained many of the ethnic dishes to us. However, we will probably not return, due to the cost of the dinner. In Montreal, we have so many fine restaurants, and it is not really necessary to spend so much for dinner.

Excellent service, exquisite food. For a great tasting experience, you need to try it out. Plates to share so you can taste a wide array. The beet mutabbal and the shish kabab are particularly good. Plan in advance and make sure to reserve as this place is always full of people. !!!

Food is good. Presentation even better. A nice wine and arak list. The service is good but sometimes too fast, possibly in order to ensure availability for the second service. Reservations are sometimes difficult to get. But all in all, a worthwhile experience.

The place: small but beautiful, loungy ambiance and Syrian decoration. Service: EXCEPTIONAL we were served by one of the two owners, everyone works in team, probably the best service we received in Montreal all year. You are treated like guests at their homes. Perfect for friends gatherings and for dates. Food: personally, I found the food excellent, trust the waiter... More

Staying in Outremont

Neighbourhood Profile
Outremont
Outremont, a quaint residential district just north of Downtown, is a peaceful, low-key setting known for its mod cafes and bistros, and some of the best walking territory Montreal has to offer. Visitors can explore the flowering parks and manor estates of Maplewood Street, then window-shop the popular bakeries and coffeehouses on main arteries of Chemin de la Côte-Sainte-Catherine and Rue Van Horne. The modern granola feel is complemented by contemporary art exhibitions, rotating theatre productions, and a welcoming public library. Also a nexus for the city's Hasidic Jewish culture, Outremont's diversity resounds in its cuisine and in its architecture. Visit the colorful neighbourhood to take advantage of boutique shopping on Avenue Laurier, or to test the artisanal flavors of Avenue Bernard, braving a salmon burger on a squid-ink bun or accommodating your sweet tooth with a provincial chômeur pudding. A visit to Outremont is a relaxing day.
