The food was outstanding, some of the best dishes we have ever experienced! The atmosphere is quite loud!

I always eat here when in Montreal and this last trip I had both lunch and dinner here. Excellent service and the food is still brilliant. Highly recommended.

We didn't have a false note during our entire meal at Bouillon Bilk. The staff was accommodating of a late-ish change in our reservation, and we were greeted with so much warmth by everyone we came in contact with, including our knowledgeable server. The tasting menu was inventive yet approachable, and the flavors were out of this world dish after... More

Bouillon Bilk is consistently ranked near the top of Montreal restaurants at Tripadvisor -- and we were not disappointed. Although surprised by the TV repair sign above the restaurant (we had to check and make sure we were at the right place!) -- everything else was better than superb. Perfect service (attentive but not hovering; friendly and nice); beautiful presentation... More

Been there twice and the food is always outstanding. The food is well presented and very affordable for the quality of dishes served.

The food here was beautifully cooked, presented and reasonably priced for what you get. The wine was a bit pricey (but not overwhelming) for what we found in Montreal in general but once tasted felt worth it. Book a reservation in advance (on the restaurant's website) if you plan on a Friday or weekend dinner. Try the guinea hen and... More

My wife and I enjoyed a well prepared and presented dinner. A number of the menu choices were more eclectic than normal (particularly the different entrée food pairings), which made for an interesting and fun experience. We started the night off splitting a half dozen oysters--two different types---they were beautiful. My wife loved her Hamache appetizer (probably the least out-there... More

Our party of six dined at Bouillon Bilk after reading the many rave reviews on Trip Advisor and the internet. We were not disappointed. The food was inventively appealing and absolutely delicious. The scallops (signature dish) were out-of-this world. The service was excellent and the restaurant itself is modern yet still exudes warmth. It's an easy place to miss given... More

I love small dishes with flavors that electrify your mouth, this place did none of this. The food was overly sweetened , including the meat! There are so many restaurants in Montreal with amazing cuisine, this was such a let down.

Dinner with my parents on their anniversary is a bit of a minefield. My mother is a great cook, and my father a "meat and potatos" guy who prefers to eat at home. My mother also has celiac disease, which means gluten-free is her only option. Not only did the staff immediately bring out a special menu, but when our... More

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theatres, and exhibition centres are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
