Our party of six dined at Bouillon Bilk after reading the many rave reviews on Trip Advisor and the internet. We were not disappointed. The food was inventively appealing and absolutely delicious. The scallops (signature dish) were out-of-this world. The service was excellent and the restaurant itself is modern yet still exudes warmth. It's an easy place to miss given... More

I love small dishes with flavors that electrify your mouth, this place did none of this. The food was overly sweetened , including the meat! There are so many restaurants in Montreal with amazing cuisine, this was such a let down.

Dinner with my parents on their anniversary is a bit of a minefield. My mother is a great cook, and my father a "meat and potatos" guy who prefers to eat at home. My mother also has celiac disease, which means gluten-free is her only option. Not only did the staff immediately bring out a special menu, but when our... More

Had been reading about this place for a while wanting to try it out but somehow the occasion never presentd itself until last dec 2016. A small carefully chosen menu that was excellent. You will not regert the experience.

It was a great evening that my gf and I had at Bilk. Food was great- I can recommend Rabbit fois gras, Truffle linguine and beef tataki as my favourites. Duck breast had intersting intake with walnuts but the meat itself was a bit chewy and I would skip it next time. We loved our server Youri who never rushed... More

Excellent service, beautiful presentation and variety. The rabbit appetizer and venison main were superb as was the sea bass. Highly recommended

The night I went to Bouillon Bilk, the food brought me back to the Pacific Coast (where I live) while the service brought me back to continetal europe (where I grew up). In these sorts of establishments, one should always go for the menu gastronomique because this is where you get to feel the heart of the chef and kitchen... More

Girlfriend and I decided to lunch with each other (without kid) for once and paid a visit to Bouillon Bilk last week. Although the lunch menu is simpler than for dinner, it offered plenty of inspiring choices. I had a cauliflower soup and the côte de veau and did not regret it! Best soup ever, with best veal ever! The... More

Just wonderful - I had a lobster capelletti that almost made me cry. Wonderful wine list and a beautifully stark space in an unusual neighbourhood. Excellent bathrooms to boot.

Got lucky on boxing day. Walked there in pouring freezing rain. Maitre de got us the only spot available at the bar. Absolutely amazing fare. Cannot fault either the service or food. Sommelier was bang on with a good affordable recommendation. Courses were unforgettable. Millefeuil desert was possible the nicest thing I have ever eaten. Yes expensive. But worth every... More

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theatres, and exhibition centres are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
