Our group of six each gave our dining experience at Quattro five stars. Located steps from the Notre Dame Cathedral, Quattro provided a phenomenal evening of relaxed dining among friends. The Proprietor greeted us promptly and warmly as we were being seated. The homemade pasta is second to none and the braised short rib special wasn't far behind. I would... More

Had dinner here with my son last week. The entire meal including the service was excellent. We arrived early for our reservation and were seated promptly, we were greeted by the pleasant host and made to feel welcome. Our waiter quickly attended our table and provided good advise and information. We wanted a number of small plates to share and... More

Another TripAdvisor solid find. Visited restaurant solely because of the reviews and wanted Italian. Beautiful, small, restaurant in Old Montreal. Called around 5:00 for a reservation at 6:30, no problems. Restaurant was fairly quiet when arrived, was told that they normally get busy later in the evening (maybe that is a big city thing, lol). The hostess took our coats... More

Located near Old Montréal. It is an upscale restaurant but has a relaxed atmosphere. Very authentic Italian food. We had an excellent dining experience at Quatto. Not only was the food delicious, the service was first rate. Our waiter was not only professional but his friendliness and humor made our experience at the restaurant really special.

The place is located in the beautiful Old Montreal area, a few steps from the Notre Dame Cathedral, the atmosphere of the place is formidable and the atmosphere completely relaxed. To visit with family or for a Romanic date, it is excellent.

Fantastic truffle penne with sausages, filets were done perfectly, outstanding appetizers. We went here 3 years ago and have been trying to find an excuse to come back ever since! Worth a trip to Montreal just to go to Quattro.

Honestly, this might be the finest Italian food anywhere and we have traveled to Italy! Simply delicious! The service was top notch; friendly, attentive and charming. The ambiance is very chic.

We can not say enough about the attention the Servers give to all the diners. They go above and beyond! The seafood risotto is one of the best we have ever tried. The pasta is freshly made! We will definitely return.

Simply put this is a celiacs dream! The friendly owner welcomed us upon arrival and made us feel at home instantly. After a quick chat the owner (who's daughter is also celiac) did a run through of the menu explaining what can be served gluten free, which is basically everything. They served soft gluten free buns, which was to die... More

We had a great meal here. The staff were friendly and kind. Food for both of us was superb. In the old Montreal neighbourhood.

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
