I've been coming to passe compose for years, since the old location. I traveled over 45 minutes in the subway to get my favorite omelet, the espana*. I despise eating eggs but when I do it's the only omelet that I eat and ever will. I do take out some ingredients... the chorizo and the spaghetti... I love it plain... More

Visited on a busy sunday. There was no hostess to take names for the wait list, no indication of how to proceed for the wait list. We waited 20 minutes with no indication, when someone skipped the line and took hold of a waitress to give her name while we had been waiting for much longer. People behind started to... More

We had the pleasure of eating one of the most delicious brunch meals in years. Our server Melissa was a pure joy. She was attentive, informative, professional, and, most importantly, personable. This is definitely a must if you are in Montreal. We HIGHLY recommend the duck confit pouched eggs, served with Bloody Mary. Enjoy!

Not only disappointing food but the service was awful. Not only food overpriced, but it was not tasty and cold, coffee was undrinkable but most importantly the staff was rude. This place is clearly NOT BABY FRIENDLY but nothing justifies the waitresses who were unhelpful, disrespectful and at the end aggressive towards a mother with a 9-month old. It was... More

The wait wasn't terribly long on Sunday, but it was later in the day (around 1). We probably waited about 20 minutes. We ended up with a table by the window and despite the fact that it was below freezing out it was HOT with the sun beating down on us. However, the food was AMAZING. We really enjoyed everything... I left two stars because of my previous good experience with this restaurant at the previous location, otherwise I should have given it only one star! It used to be a very nice place with a unique tasty food. I went several times there for brunch and would recommend it to others. It was the first time I was trying... More

The Line-ups: This place had an insanely long line by 11 am when we arrived. It was also quite confusing for people like us coming for the first time. Some would get the impression that you would be seated according to where you are in the line, however after waiting in line for ~30 minutes we realized that you actually... More

The food was amazing with a beautiful presentation. It is a great place for friends to get together. The music was good, not too loud. The atmosphere and decor were eclectic, Bohemian, and relaxed. The bathrooms were clean. Fantastic service in French and English. We came at 9:00, by the time we left there was a line up down the... More

I was lucky enough to not have to wait in line at around 11 am on a Friday. Its a busy place but service was good. Had a great poached egg on brioche with ham, came with fruit, really delicious and visually appealing. Just wish it was a little warmer. My friend had the grilled cheese and it was massive... More

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighbourhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomised by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
