I had the opportunity to go back to kitchenette after my first experience in November. I took the tasting menu (9 courses), sitting at the counter. First of all, the menu is well balanced and perfectly executed. It is a pleasure to see them work in that open kitchen. The chef (and his team) is really paying attention to details... More

Stayed at the Hotel le Roberval, so looked for a restaurant close to the hotel and found this place. Made reservations for NYE, was a nice place very bust but relaxing at the same time. The food was great, but the menu was a set menu which we didnt know about until we got there. The wife wanted to leave... More

Excellent, inventive cuisine. Warm atmosphere, gracious professionals. Solid wine list with reasonable prices. After several years and a change in ownership, happy to have given this fine restaurant another try!

There was literally 1 other couple on a Thursday night at 8:15. Fun decor, slightly lacking atmosphere, nice bar. Friendly service. Had the beet salad. Was expecting traditional beet salad, instead the beets were julienned (would have preferred traditional quarters). Salmon on bed of wild rice (for lack of more precise term) was quite good. Dessert was warm apple and... More

Outstanding service and food from a team who genuinely "get" hospitality. There's not a hint of pretension or automation from the time we were greeted and sat to the time we left 2 hours later. The menu is classic, the presentation, creative. We were out with friends from Sweden and our host/waiter even took the trouble to google a phrase... More

We loved this place. It is a lovely casual room but the location on Rene Levesque is undistinguished. It is near to the Village. The food is modern French of the highest quality. The is a good wine list and very pleasant service. We enjoyed dinner so much we went back for weekend brunch which was equally good. all up,... More

Excellent Parisien style café. This restaurant deserves to be discovered, a few steps from the gay village but open to all. A definite 10 on 10. We received an above average service from Mathieu, Jérémie and Jazz. The “Sampling Menu with wine pairing” was perfect for our birthday celebration! The freshness of the dishes and the mix of flavors were... More

This quaint spot sitting on a busy Avenue was recommended by our b&b..what a surprise!! The chefs education and pedigree show in this inventive menu..it is French with a touch of his world travels sauced on top..open kitchen with a bar to watch him work...all of our dishes were excellent and artistically presented..when our server discovered it was my birthday..the... First of all let it be known that the owners of this restaurant have only had it for 8 months but kept the same name of the previous restaurant. Therefore any of the negative reviews on tripadvisor from last year or before are not for them, so pay attention to the dates of reviews when you are reading them. So,... More

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighbourhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomised by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
