This was our first steak ordered in Montreal, so perhaps we are to blame for the over-cooking of the beef...? Burger too well done. Medallions over-cooked to our liking (both of the orders, which we ordered one "medium rare" and the other "medium well"). Again, maybe our fault for not understanding how Quebec cooks meat... Good wine list. Nice salads.... More

We travel in a group and we always have a budget for the food. We were looking for good food at a reasonable price. We found this place with a super lunch special! The meat was 5 stars, the entrees are super and the dessert awesome! So to answer your question, you can eat here.

Arrived in Montreal late and wanted a steak. Easy walk from the hotel and wasnt disapointed. Great wine by the glass menu. My wife had the Margaux which was excellent. Lovely Caprese salad to start then a very tasty steak. For what we had I thought the price was reasonable. Lovely roaring fire on a cold night.

Four of us had dinner here February 24 for birthday celebration. A local person suggested restaurant. Decor was lovely we were sitting beside wood burning fire place. The service was fantastic. Best service we had all weekend. Food was just ok. Expected more from the steak. Our appetizers and desert were good. I would go back next time in Montreal... More

This was a great disappointment. The good. The decor is fantastic, the calimari was very good as was the creme brûlée flambed with GM. The bad. The service. The order process was crisp but not informative. The drinks we dropped on the table and the wine was poured at the same time. The apps came, and the server didn't know... More

We had a lovely meal last night! We were seated at a table with a view of the street and the server was very attentive. The striploin and chicken entrees were delicious and this stop was a highlight in our trip to Montreal. Thanks for a wonderful experience!

We wanted to eat in Old Town so we headed over from the Village. Found Vieux-Port. Was a hopping place and the ambiance was very nice. We checked in at the Matre de station, but I often like to eat at the bar or in the bar area. The bar is at the back of the restaurant in a private... More

A friend and I were up to Montreal for a hockey game on super bowl weekend and we visited Vieux-port. The food is excellant and the service is very attentive. Our server's name was Jonathan who took the time to make sure the littlest detail was met.

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighbourhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic centre of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its centre, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theatre.
