I have been to Saloon for couple of times, for breakfast, lunch and supper, it's always great and delicious food, lots of choices, service with a smile. I'm wanted to take my friend to a unique place, to have fun and enjoy great food, everything was excellent. Love the decoration and ambiance.

A nice lively bar right in the heart of the village. Good crowd, nice drinks and very friendly fun service. Prices were ok.

I've been to Montreal 3 times...and each time, we have at least one dinner at Le Saloon. If you're hanging out on St Catherine, in the Village, I think a meal at Saloon is almost a given. Lively atmosphere, great drinks and an extensive selection of food to pick from make it a crowd pleaser. We've always left happy.

Le Saloon seems to have it all: imaginative cocktails, exquisite cuisine, and an atmosphere that stimulates the eyes and the ears. Neither of us were hungry, having had a large lunch, but neither of us left anything on the plate either. I started with a "Saloon Cesar," their own version of a Bloody Mary which was probably the best drink... More

Great quality food - a little pricey perhaps but not excessive for the area - from a varied menu, served by friendly (and attractive!) staff. We enjoyed our lunch on the sunny little terrace so much that we went back the next day :) Highly recommended!

Food is great. Little pricy, but worth it. Salad with quiche was wonderful. Place was packet for lunch at 12:30. For light lunch. Share an entree.

This is probably one of the nicer places to go in the Gay Village. The atmosphere is always hip and there is always a good crowd. The prices are a bit much for what they try to offer as upscale bar fare. Drinks in Canada with measured pours are notoriously bad; Saloon is no exception. It is best as lunch/brunch... More

The best thing about Saloon is the funky vibe: there are classic movie scenes and even vintage Disney cartoons playing on suspended screens all over the place. The food is excellent here, too, and quick. Only down side is that tables are so tightly crammed in, but it sometimes spurs a nice conversation with your neighbor. Great burgers and frites!

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighbourhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomised by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
