I discovered this nice little Italian cafe next door to a garage where I was having work done on my car. The owner, Stephania, couldn't have been nicer. I had a BLT with a slice of Provolone cheese, and a very good coffee. The place was small, but nicely lit with an assortment of Italian products and free candy and cookies at the bar. The menu included paninni, sandwiches, and various coffee and non-alcoholic drinks. Prices were reasonable.

Saint-Léonard
Another focal point of Montreal's Italian community, Saint-Léonard appeals to families and the young at heart, with caverns to explore, museums to take in, and games to play. This is typified by the borough's Leonardo Da Vinci Centre, where visitors are just as likely to view an opera in its plush auditorium as they are to jump onto the lawn for a round of bocce ball. Burn off pasta calories with a stroll through Galerie Port-Maurice, a swim in the massive indoor pool of Complexe Aquatique, or on the steep ramps at Giuseppe-Garibalidi skate park. Perhaps the most curious and magical feature of the district can be viewed by boat on the waters of the underground lake in Saint-Leonard Cavern. A dazzling natural wonder, the sun dapples through the subterranean setting, lighting the bulbous formations of stalagmites and stalactites, and setting the water ablaze with color. Truly a place for an out-of-the-ordinary adventure.
