Nothing special, but overall our visit was positive. Food is pretty standard, a little greasier than we expected, but still good. Service is ok. Prices are good. Definitely, a place once can visit from time to time.

Great little diner. Nothing fancy, but you can't beat the prices, the generous portions and the friendly staff.

My mom had the Canadian eggs Benedict which she enjoyed and I had the Reuben sandwich which was very good. I am not a huge potato fan but I loved the homefries. With both dishes and 2 coffees it came to about $32. The service was good as well.

Fran's is an institution in TO, and there are three of them, all open 24 hours a day. Food is always plentiful and delicious. Service is super friendly and efficient. The prices are right. Fran's ain't fancy but you'll get everything you crave for. Just go!

Fran's restaurant is an very easy going establishment with fairly good food and not overly expensive. The staff by enlarge are friendly and accommodating However, during busy times in can be a little frustrating getting the attention of the waiting staff The best thing is this place is open 24 hours!! Rating in my opinion is 3/5.

Pleasant and fast service, great food! Also very budget friendly. Plenty to select from on the menu, I regret I didn't try the 24 hour breakfast, but perhaps next time as I would definitely go back.

I work around the restaurant for shift work. We used to lace about 10 orders of take out on midnight shift for our breakfast. Every single time, they either forget to put something or screw few orders. After few times this was happening, whoever went to pick up had to open all the items and check .... Now, we go... More

We had a really good meal at Fran's. We didn't realize the restaurant had such a long history. The diner-atmosphere was great, as was the service.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
