This place was absolutely epic. Seriously, absolutely epic. The frois gras literally melted in my mouth and the turkey burger was outstanding. We were down visiting and was recommended to go here and they nailed the recommendation perfectly. Do not hesitate whatsoever to visit here for a meal and go for the hospitality and the freakin awesome staff.

Having just immigrated from the states and on a mini vacation with the Mrs. We ventured to the Ace. Having viewed the restaurant on Triple D, we wanted to give it a try for ourselves. And... Well it is great. The greeting from the beginning to the food all the way through. Upon entering we were greeted and seated by... More

This place is very hip and I like the servers a lot. The food can be overly salty but it's not boring. Good choice of beer and wine.

Staple dinner site on Roncessvalles. Worth the wait if they are full and they are superb at following up with the wait list to get you in and dining. Great burger and fries, just the right portions, and priced well for Toronto. Limited but well selected wine list. Great service

Not only is this place in one of the coolest Toronto neighbourhoods, it's also located in a former Chinese restaurant. The decor is original, and super retro. The food is delicious & the vibe is fantastic . I Highly recommend this place, & hope to go back soon.

Had the breakfast burrito and also fried egg sandwich, both of them excellent, fantastic home fries and everything freshly made right there. The service was friendly, prompt and the restaurant though small, wasn't too loud. I'll have to return to try the dinner or lunch menu too.

Great rotating selection of boutique cocktails. Excellent menu with delicious eats at a reasonable price (especially for Toronto). Fun hole-in-the-wall atmosphere.

This was our first time to the Ace. It is a wonderful vintage diner space. We were seated in a booth. Food is carefully and perfectly prepared with the best of ingredients using much home made products. Had a wonderful Eggs benedict. Perfectly poached eggs old school , free swimming in water and vinegar in a pot. Home fries wonderfully... More

Visiting this restaurant is about more than having a good meal , it is about enjoying a bit of nostalgia and reliving a time when life was less complicated and we took the time to really savour each experience. It was more than three decades ago a Chinese restaurant in the style of a diner. The new owners have kept... More

I have been meaning to check out The Ace for awhile now. I went with a friend last week for dinner and was not disappointed at all. The chef cooks to order everything in the kitchen in middle of the diner. We shared the kale salad and vegetarian paté to start. The salad was crazy good. And I don't even... More

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
The go-to area for new business start-ups, the spry and creative persona of the West End thrives along its streets. Its independent boutiques, galleries, restaurants, and shops offer brands that can't be found elsewhere. Buildings with ground floor consumer spaces sport up-top artist's lofts, and the West End attracts artists, designers, and fashion industry professionals to its living quarters. It is in the cross-hairs of gentrification, but still resisting it with ironic relish. Hot deals can still be found here on furniture and knick-knacks,. Its call to culinary glory is in its well-priced homemade Polish food, hosting Toronto's go-to spots for hot pierogis and cold borscht. High Park, the largest green space in the city, is a place for dreamers and poets to wander and rest, not to mention a number of energetic actors staging outdoor plays in the summertime.
