Those who enjoy their beer but also crave a well-cooked meal will have little to complain about. Be sure to keep an eye out for a wayward menu as not all “seat yourself” tables come equipped with them. After perusing a newspaper with an Alexander Keith’s, I started off with a bowl of French onion soup that was very flavourful,... More

The meals are huge. I have been happy with what I have ordered. They are quick in service. Able to handle large groups.

Popped into this pub one evening for a drink. English pub décor with a bit of Irish thrown in. It was very quiet on our visit. The waitress was friendly but the bar tender was more interested in watching television, zero conversation! Drinks were cheaper than some other pubs/bars around.

This is a typical pub in Canada - which is different than a British pub. It tries to be a British pub - but is a commercial version and does not serve pub food like in England. The menu is average. For example, chicken fingers are frozen rather than freshly made. The Yorkshire puddings used to be in the menu... More

Good service. Good food and great beer. What more could you want And the prices are good too. We looked at a sushi place near by which was dirty so this place was welcome.

My husband and I had dinner here on a Wednesday night while we were visiting Toronto. I had Lamb Shanks with roasted vegetables. I have to say that those vegetables were the best. There was quite a variety and everything was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The lambs shanks were also good but after I tried the vegetables I almost didn't... More

Lots of variety on the menu to satisfy different tastes. We have had a few group meals there for birthdays, etc, and have always had an enjoyable experience. Food was good to great all the way around. Table of twenty plus diners and all were happy.

I had brunch on a weekend on the street terrasse (located on a quiet street), enjoying the sun. The food was to be enjoyed as well. Very tasty brunch items (I had a burrito) and enough food for the hungriest!.

Three of us had lunch on Pride Sunday. We knew that we would have a wait; we did not know that we would wait seventy five minutes for two salads and a fish and chips. The kitchen, bar and restaurant were clearly badly understaffed and completely overwhelmed. Our server was friendly and doing her best, but she could only do... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
