Last time I made a trip here was 5 years ago and they had this wicked fried crab balls with the claw on it to hold. I was so disappointed it was not on the menu cause this was the only reason I came back!...More

This was our 3rd or 4th visit to Swatow and we always enjoy the food and atmosphere. It’s a cozy restaurant with a great menu and the food never disappoints. Just remember to bring cash as that’s all they take!

Swatow. Named after the city in the Guangdong region from which the style emanates. Small place (the resto, not the region). Get there early. Be prepared for lineups (perhaps more so on Sundays). And a lot of noise. Not chic, but clean. Inexpensive. A small,...More

I've been coming here for years, last visit exactly one year ago to the day. Today's meal was by far the absolute WORST I've ever had. After spending $117, my friends and I totally feel ripped off. We were suspect from the moment we walked...More

Swatow enjoys a loyal following, though as a Toronto resident and Chinatown devotee, I really couldn't tell you why. There is equivalent or better food up and down the street, and I've always found the service at Swatow particularly flippant. When you order for takeout...More

Came here with 2 couples for some dinner after a stroll downtown Toronto. Small place but amazing food. The General Tao chicken was the best out of any I have ever had, it was phenomenal. Won Tong soup is made with shrimp instead of pork...More

We stopped in for lunch and were seated immediately. The restaurant was crowded so we knew it was a popular spot. We ordered a noodle dish, chicken dish and sweet n sour chicken. The noodle dish had an odd fish taste to it even though...More

Everything is good here. The noodles are freshly made, and I could go on eating the pan fried dumplings until I burst. Some commenters complain that the food is not the way they expect it to be - "It's not spicy enough" or "it's too...More

Toronto's main Chinatown has the honor of being the
largest in North America. Gaping down across Dundas
Street West and Spadina Avenue, the area is a
wonderful medley of shops and restaurants, busy signs
and bright red gates, a destination for foodie fun.
Chinatown's streets are always bustling, packed with
people and outdoor stalls hawking fresh produce and
products. The restaurants and authentic marketplaces
