We had a selection of oysters from different areas followed by shoft shell crab and everything was delicious and fresh. The wine tends to be expensive, like everywhere else in Toronto but we got a bottle of local Pinot Gris for 50 CAD that was quite nice. Service was very good. The only negative, the music is too loud, but... More

I should admit at the outset that this is SO my kind of place. Nothing formal about it, just good beer, wine, and a short menu of shellfish, tartare, and smoked seafood delights...a seafood pasta here, an oyster po-boy there, but not to deep beyond that. If you ask me, this is the finest kind of eating, everything fresh, minimally... More

If you like oysters this is the place. I don't particularly but there were folks having their fill of them. Settled for a 2 lb lobster. There is enough to share if you want to go light, soup was filling by itself. Would definitely return.

Walked downstairs into this dim bar area and wonder what i had entered. I did not realize the seating was obscured and to my left. My party of three sat down to review the menu with the assistance of a very friendly waiter who helped us make a selection. i order a dozen oyster from east and west coast. When... More

My brother, my hubby and I took my dad here for his birthday. The food was very good, especially the fresh oysters. Atmosphere was nice, laid back and friendly. Service was very good. It is expensive and the portion sizes are a bit on the small side so keep that in mind. Definitely the best oysters I have ever had!

It's definitely a unique experience for specific seafood treats if you know exactly what you're wanting. Amazingly fresh oysters and such a variety! Nice set up, in a century old building, accompanied by just a little eclectic memorabilia. We also had the tartare, amazing! mussels and live dungeness crab. My only advice is to ask about the market price prior... More

April; Good advice for sure! We've been getting murdered with pricing for live shellfish so far in 2017. Lobster prices at one point went up 30% just before Mother's Day. The demand for quality seafood (live/fresh, from known sources, etc) is growing, which is great on one hand, but on the other it can put tremendous pressure on prices, especially... More

Friendly, knowledgeable wait staff and great food. What more could you ask of a seafood restaurant really? The staff's knowledge of oysters was truly impressive. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here.

Went here on a Monday there was about three people at the bar and that's about it. The food was good but the ambiance was non-existent. I would stay away on Mondays.

Nothing better than a cold glass of Rosé wine, beer for the hubby on draft, and a dozen east coast oysters. So fresh, you can taste the sea. Corn chowder and Bahamian Chowder were both great for lunch on a rainy day. Sit at the bar, meet some new people. The Shuckers are smart well educated and fun to talk... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
