My grandmother lives on the Danforth so we usually pick a nice Greek resturant close to her place, this has been the best one we have been to in years. Minus the fact that the server wasn't Greek the food was very good, every coarse came at a reasonable time and the service was good. One mess up with the... More

I was out at Pappa's Grill on Labour Day (September 5,2016) with my family. It was a beautiful day, so we decided to sit out on the patio after having a look at the menu. The menu is left out in front of the restaurant for walker-bys to take a look at. The menu is very similar to the rest... More

My daughter and I supped here before catching Romeo & Julie in the park. The service was friendly and speedy. I loved the dips appetizers we shared (eggplant and roe & potato - so fluffy smooth and light). The octopus was rather heavily pickled but delightful. Their lamb shank dinner was fall off the bone and rich. Sit on the... More

My husband and I stopped by late one afternoon right before a thunderstorm started for appetizers and and some Greek wine. We ordered the hummus/pita platter and a small carafe of wine. We were able to sit outside under the awning and enjoy the excellent hummus and wine. The service was great as well. We really enjoyed the atmosphere, food,... More

On our recent visit, we sensed that Pappas was not quite the same. Waitstaff has turned over, with key veterans retiring. Menu items come and go with unpredictability. Sloooowwww service: one waits and waits and waits for their order, sometimes watching other customers being served first, even if they've arrived after yourselves. And not having any air-conditioning at all for... More

A friend and I had a pleasant lunch on the patio. I have had bad experiences with greek food on the Danforth--reactions to additives in the spices- and this meal was a great relief. I had fabulous grilled calamari with a side greek salad. My friend had a satisfying spanakopita with greek salad.

We had not gone to Pappas for a long time, but were interested to try the rear of their patio on Arundel away from the traffic on the Danforth on a hot day. Seated quickly, service a bit slow but ok. Chose village salad, tzatziki and pita( both better elsewhere but ok), and calamari, which was quite good. Pretty good... More

This place filled the bill but was nothing special. The food was good though a bit too much garlic for my liking. My wife did enjoy the crème brulee she got and her lamb chops - just the right size. The server was helpful with her gluten free needs

I have been here many times over the years. It's a pleasant Greek restaurant in the Greek district of town ("on the Danforth"). The food is consistently good and the service is always friendly. When the weather is nice, the restaurant opens up to the patio and you feel a little like you're in Greece.

Staying in East End

Neighbourhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
