Tasted just like the fish and chips from Britain. Not something you'd expect. You won't be disappointed.

We had heard that this restaurant was owned by someone who had previously owned a fish and chip shop in Yorkshire, England so made a point of finding this "hidden gem" on our visit to Toronto. We were not disappointed!!. We chose the cod and chips, which was served freshly cooked ~ and a very large plateful. The fish was... More

What a surprise to find this gem in Toronto, of all places. The fish batter was excellent and came on the dish crispy. The chips were also done just right. In fact, this dish is better than any found in the UK. A small bowl of cold slaw was included in the meal. Worth making a trip to Toronto just... More

We often come and are always pleased. Come early, or you will have to line up. Fish is always cooked to perfection.

I've been here twice in the last few months and both times ordered the fish and chips. The first time I discovered that one order is big enough for two, unless one of you has a big appetite. The second time, I split my order with my mom and it was just the right size. Fish (we ordered the haddock)... More

This is my in-laws fave fish&chips restaurant. I finally got to try it. We celebrated a birthday in here yesterday and had lunch in this restaurant. The interior and atmosphere was great. Very popular amongst locals. Clean and friendly staff. Above all the food was good. I had the shrimps and chips. Others had fish&chips. The food is not greasy.... More

I ordered TOGO and the food was wonderful! I upgraded my chips to poutine for a reasonable price and the portions were bigger than I expected. The Cod, fish, had the perfect crunch and the inside was flaky and moist. The chowder was creamy! I wish they put a layer of paper in between the freshly fried cod and styrofoam... More

The atmosphere is really good you feel home, the fish is not oily at all which is really good but the chips is not that much good, and I myself prefer much more taste I mean more flavor with serve. I highly suggest this place.

The restaurant is a staple in this neighbourhood and we were happy to try it. My friend ordered the scallops and I had the halibut. They both came with fries and coleslaw. Everything was hot, the fish was crispy, the fries tasty and the coleslaw delicious. Very much enjoyed our lunch and would go again.

This place is pretty good for a city like Toronto which isn't a coastal area so fish would need to be flown or shipped in. It strives to be an english pub/chip shop but it really doesn't have the pub atmosphere so mainly it is a chip shop. The servers aren't particularly personable or charming so it doesn't really have that... Staying in East York

Neighbourhood Profile
East York
East York includes a portion of old, industrial Toronto. Densely populated but incredibly safe, it boasts some of the city's earliest gardens and gardening clubs, attracting green thumbs everywhere. The tranquility of the Don Valley River area, which is rich with Toronto's oldest and tallest forests, is supplemented by the large ensemble of authentic and refurbished Edwardian homes, giving parts of East York allure. The other draw is for foodies: lovers of Bangladeshi fare will find authentic restaurants and markets in the area, with raw spices and desserts. East York also represents a lot of Toronto's Serbian food culture, and recently, has had an outcropping of solid microbrewery stops. For families, the science center is a favored weekend stop.
