Last night my cousins and I went to merlot for a post wedding dinner. The service was prompt and courteous and the meal was delightful. I had the Arctic char and escargots and ate every inch of it. I will definitely be going back and strongly recommend it to others.

Small intimate place - free of blasting music, one person for our table, vs. Multiple staffers doing this and that. Friendly server who gave us lots of options, did not rush us. Would return anytime.

Moules appetizer, salad, daily vegetable soup were all tasty. Icelandic cod and steak were done to perfection. The vegetables were not over cooked. Desserts were excellent as well...Fruit flan and chocolate mousse were excellent. Becks beer available is you don't drink. Winterlicious is menu is excellent. Very good service.

A wonderful cozy bistro style place that has been around 25 years. The restaurant was spacious enough to not feel crammed, yet cozy enough to feel like you had just visited a bistro in Paris. The food was good, however the server could have used a smile once in a while. Their winterliscious menu is quite extensive compared to some... More

Dropped in for dinner tonight after a less than exemplary experience at another restaurant. We called at the last minute, they squeezed us in on a busy Saturday night and by the time our cocktails arrived we had shaken off the poor experience and were feeling warm and cared for by the staff at Merlot. Everything, from appetizer, to main,... More

It's no wonder Merlot has been in Kingsway Village for so many years, it's because they always serve great food and has real French charm. We come regularly, and husband always has to have their steak tartare (see bottom of their menu for special items) and loves it! I myself have tried so much, and stand outs include their French... Merlot was suggested by a friend who lived nearby. A new experience for me. And i was impressed. Had the ambience and menu choices of a restaurant francais.... i had the croque madame (salmon inside the rarebit) a side salad and a glass of wine. My colleague had mussels.... and we were both quite happy. Out here in Bloor West,... More

Merlot is is a little French jewel in the Etobicoke area of western Toronto. We found it by accident when our planned restaurant was fully booked. The menu offers many French specialties including some the best escargot we have had in years. The wine list is extensive, offering wines in many categories and price ranges. We are glad we had... I read all the reviews and thought I would give Merlot another try. I was last here 2 year ago and it has not changed one bit. The meals were good but the service was HORRIBLE. I don't drink, so the moment they realize that you're not going to order wine, they don't give a crap about you. The bill... More
