Some had said the service is not so good here. Friday for lunch the restaurant was crowded, really crowded. The two servers did a great job, I think. The food servings are large; food very tasty; pricing compatitatve. The variety of Malaysian,Burmese, Chinese and Indian dishes is great. I would go back there.

This is my favourite restaurant near the University of Toronto. I often complain that the menu have not changed for years. But then I always order the 3 or 4 dishes that I think they do particularly well.

This is my second visit to this restaurant. It still has amazing food, good prices and a very elegant interior...cloth napkins! Last time there was with my husband, we ate outside on the patio and had very pleasant, attentive service. This time not so lucky. The restaurant was not busy, less than a quarter full, we were greeted and seated... More

We were looking forward to trying some indonesian/indian cuisine at the Matahari bar and grill for the winterlicious dinner event. Sadly the food was very disappointing. My soup was cold, my vegetable currry was oily, my son's shortribs were dry not moist. The banana dessert was swimming in what tasted like corn syrup. The restaurant was under staffed and the food... We tried to get into a popular Indonesian Restaurant to no avail and given that our mindset was Indonesian, I decided to search other such venues in the City and was surprised to see how few there are in this diverse multi-cultural City. I was somewhat skeptical when I read the reviews of this place as they were all over... More

Have been wanting to try this restaurant and I had the chance recently. We ordered chicken satay, nasi lemak and Hokkien mee. They were just ok, nothing to praise about. M&M have better chicken satay! And we wanted ice kacang for dessert but was told they don't have any that day. So it was quite disappointing

An outstanding restaurant with excellent food, We had the most delightful Friday evening. Not cheap but very good value, interesting menu - everything we ordered was excellent. (lamb Curry)

Matahari says on their website they are a an exotic blend of Malay, Chinese, Peranakan (nyonya) and Indian cuisines, I am no expert in either, but I don't really care. All the food I tasted was good and not too spicy and the portion big enough to fill me up, the Matahari platter for two was very nice, but not... More

Three of us went here for dinner last week, We had the green mango salad (no balance or spice), Mee Goreng, and a shrimp curry. The food was slow to arrive, and generally bland considering how great "Malay, Chinese, Peranakan (nyonya) and Indian cuisines" could be. I think they are better writers than cooks unfortunately. Not recommended.
