inside the Kensington market. really little but full of people. also recommended by tourist guides. There are few possibilities of typical chilean food, particularly the Empanadas. you can buy or even stop and eat on site. good but not fantastic

Someone had recommended the corn pie and it was excellent. Very large and great to share. We ordered a few small chicken empanadas to try as well. All good! Small place with nice outdoor seating too. Cash or debit only. The prices are spot on. Recommend this little hidden gem in Kensington market.

The empanadas were ok, I had the beef. I guess I was expecting something spicier. The Chilean salad was awesome and the patio was small but comfortable.

After putting this off for a long time...I broke the diet rules and tried it out. A tray of fresh beef and beef & veggie empanadas were just brought out from the kitchen. I went for the beef/veggie. Basically, it was just veggie and not even tasty! It was like a pre-packaged soup mix of some kind - nothing authentic... More

Wow, what a find! I just love the empanadas "Jumbo" makes. They are among the best if not the best even in comparison with the ones you get in Chile. The big secret is the crust and Irene's are just perfect. You can eat everything including the folded sides. I prefer the meat empanada although you can also go for... More

My friend and I arrived a few minutes after they had closed on the Chilean Independence day. They were so kind as they still let us purchase a few things-to-go anyway. We ordered the veggie empanada and 2 meet ones, the corn pie and a cheese filled pastry. I only ate the veggie empanada as I'm a vegetarian and it... More

You get a lot of empanada for what you pay for but the meat empanadas could use some additional flavor. My wife and I tried the beef, chicken, and cheese empanadas. All three had very good pastry. The ground beef empanadas also had what seemed like boiled egg and olives but could have used additional flavor for me. The chicken... More

I happened upon this place as my original lunch spot had a line going out the door. This little place is just like the name said "jumbo empanadas" It is very small and unassuming but huge on customer service and great food. I had the chicken empanada full of great flavor combinations. The pastry was cooked perfectly and crispy. I... More

I try to get here every time I'm staying in Toronto and I've even driven the 70 miles into Toronto JUST to eat there (along with a take-out order). This is not a fancy place, usually pretty warm inside (winter and summer), but the food is top notch, made from fresh ingredients without shortcuts. I'm particularly fond of the cheese... More
