Holt's Cafes in both Montreal and Toronto are delightful venues for lunch. Both have bright, airy rooms and deliver both excellent service and food. This weekend, my wife and I revisited the Toronto operation and were as usual delighted with our food - cured Arctic Char for my spouse, which she pronounced superb and a delicious Mushroom Soup and Duck... Yorkdale is one of the busiest malls in Toronto. Just had a wonderful dinner at the cafe located in Holt's Yorkdale location. Not only was dinner good better yet no lines and fast service. Eclectic menu. Not extensive but well balanced. When time is limited have a good meal and get on with your day or evening of shopping. Recommend... More

The food was great along with the service in this hip, ultra contemporary cafe in the Centre of great shopping. Open face sandwiches and chicken pot pie were delicious and light. Also a neat spot for an after work drink.

Located in one of Toronto's premiere shopping destinations on Toronto's "Mink Mile", Holt's Cafe is an excellent spot to relax after or mid-way through your shopping. If you happen to be accompanied by a man whose first love is not shopping (although there are many great men's departments) deposit him in the Cafe when he has reached his limit with... More

Sometimes you find the nicest things when you don't expect it, dropped in for lunch, we both had the fried tomatoes with pancetta ,chicken and avocado, loved the place, loved the food, loved the service. Returned two days later just for lunch. So many mediocre restaurants in area, as well as some truly exceptional ones, this little cafe is quite... More

I had the braised short Ribs and my wife had the flank steak while my daughter had the BLT salad. I found the portions minute and the food too salty. They need to add some sound attenuation as the place was too loud.

I come here with a friend for dinner on a regular basis - every single time, we've had perfect service, excellent food, and a wonderful time. The restaurant is beautiful and peaceful, and everything from the soups to the fries to the sandwiches is absolutely delicious. I find the dinner time crowd is pretty small, so that probably helps create... More

I wanted to acknowledge an ex- colleague for recommending me for a job so I decided to take her to lunch at Holts. Everything was great from the concierge to the host and the server Peter. Hats off to the chef, beautiful presentation, delicious! Peter was so attentive and we felt very special. Will definitely go again!

Holt's Cafe is on the top floor of Holt Renfew with a full wall of windows facing Bloor street. Modern with clean lines - it is visually very appealing. We were there for lunch and it was very very good. Not cheap and not expensive - middle of the road pricing. Overall a really nice place to eat.

Met my sister for lunch here last week and when I say it was fabulous I am not exaggerating. She loved her flank steak and I was more than pleased with my caprese sandwich. It was not only fresh tasting but also very satisfying. We thought we were too full to have dessert but our server convinced us to share... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
