Have season tickets to a Roy Thomson series event (drive 3 hours each way). Elephant & Castle is an easy choice due to location. Our last 2 visits have been marred by the service. Reservations are always made in advance by a corporate partner. In October, the marathon traffic re-routing delayed our arrival. One particular hostess at the door handled... More

Excellent English pub! Menu in simple but food is great! Price is on point, won't over spend. Great drink options too. Def must if your hungry!

We were going to a show at the Alex so asked the waitress if we could have a quick meal. She obliged and we were out in time though they were very busy during lunch. Two of us had their burgers and one their Caesar Salad with chicken. All were quite good and more than we could eat. The burgers... More

Stopped in for a quick bite to eat before heading to a show just down the street. We had a drink and a bowl of soup and out the door in 15 min, it was awesome. The bartender was very appreciative of our time limits and had our meal and bill within minutes. We decided to return after the show... More

I have attended this location regularly over the years, the last being Dec 13, 2016. The seating has changed; long tables for multiple parties instead of individual tables, as well as new barstools. It felt very crowded sitting at the bar (too many stools) and did not want to crowd in next to strangers at a table. Pub style food... More

This was just the right place to meet up with old friends. The music was surprisingly not too loud but good. Full but not overcrowded. Delicious food.

Had a terrific meal this evening with my husband. I had the fish and chips and as someone who has eaten this meal several times in the UK, I am fussy! Not only was the piece of fish huge, the batter was perfect! The tarter sauce had a really nice slightly spicy tang to it and the chips were also... More

The pub is conveniently located next to hotels and entertainment venues in a beautiful historic building. The staff are very efficient and friendly. We made our first trip to the pub and returned two more times because the atmosphere, service and oh yes the food was great. Prices are reasonable as well. This is a place worth trying out.

Myself and a friend went here for a bit to eat before the Toronto Cavalcade Lights event. The place was busy, but we got seated sooner than expected and the service was great. Very attentive. Cheers.

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
