I ate dinner at Dos Amigos 5 times from July-December 2015 with different groups of friends: all enjoyed the food. The staff is very friendly and helpful in managing food sensitivities/allergies. There are only a hand-full of restaurants I feel safe eating at in Toronto, and this is one of them. The outdoor patio is fabulous during the summer.

My spouse and I have eaten here twice since we randomly discovered it about a month ago. Having been to Mexico, we missed the real taste of authentic Mexican-nothing we tried came close to the real deal, until Dos Amigos. They have a fantastic prixe fixe menu for a very reasonable $25 a person. We had this on our first... More

I go here with friends almost every month before the theatre for our Tarragon subscription. This restaurant has authentic Mexican cusine and charm. The wait staff are so friendly and helpful. Have the guacamole to start. You can have a pollo asado if you want to try a bit of everything on your first visit. And finish with the churros!... More

Great food, vibe, service everything you can want right on our doorstep. We had the 3 course set meal which gave us a nice mixture of courses. Lovely courtyard setting, buzzy and full of locals. I will come back soon.

My boyfriend and I went here for dinner last night. We live a few doors away and have always wanted to try it out. We arrived around 8pm on a saturday and it was in full swing. We wanted to sit outside as its summer and there is a patio. We had a short wait as the patio was full.... More

My first time I went to Dos Amigos I didn't really like it (I was young and naive). I finally ventured back there and we sat on their cute hidden away patio. The staff are friendly and my grandmother has been going there for years. Had an excellent starter for my meal (a corn tortilla bottom with beans, cheese, lettuce,... More

Good food at a reasonable price not a great price but reasonable. Guacamole and chips , good margaritas and generous mains . The staff is wonderful and it is always good to support a small business that works hard to please. They were willing to give us exactly what we wanted slightly off menu .

We came for a birthday dinner (2 adults, 2 children) on a Saturday evening. We had a reservation but showed up a half an hour early and were only the second group in the restaurant at 5:30. By 6pm the place was packed! This is a fairly small restaurant so I would recommend reserving if you come on a weekend... More

Later on a Sunday, we stopped in for a 7pm dinner. No reservation needed. Friendly staff with recommendation if you ask. Ordered the beef burrito (my son) and the mole con pollo (me). And a margarita of course (me). If we lived closer, my son would make this his regular. Park by the George Brown campus. $5. The taco menu... More

As a regular visitor to the TTC Hillcrest Complex I have noticed this small restaurant long time ago, but never got the chance to try it...until today. And boy was it a tasty lunch. The lunch menu is a good variety, comes with soup at a very reasonable price. The service was fast, the setting is surprisingly pleasant for an... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
