We visited Vaticano Restaurant with our family after a fun afternoon out at the Museum and had a wonderful experience. They have no children's menu/portions on the menu which does make the meal a bit pricey for a family with children, but regardless - the food was excellent, the service top notch, and the atmosphere - fun! The kids listed... More

This was our first time at Vaticano and will certainly not be our last. Toronto has no shortage of good Italian restaurants, but this one clearly stands out. My wife and I are Italian and takes some doing impressing us, but this is definitely one I will recommend when asked the question I get often asked "where is a good... More

Having just arrived in Toronto from Los Angeles, California, we searched for a restaurant with the best food. Vaticano Restaurant on 25 Bellair Street in Yorkville, is a jewel in the rough. From the moment you enter, it exudes the comfort and warmth of home. The staff are very friendly and happy to accommodate all your requests promptly. Celebrity Chef... More

This is our fourth year for our family Christmas dinner at Vaticano. Each time we have received excellent service and tasty food for our party of 9 to 11. This year Roshan was especially attentive and gave great advice for wine, entrees, and dessert. We definitely will reserve for next Christmas. Thank you Felice Vacca for your wonderful slice of... Vaticano may have its limitations for some, such as a very old-school Italian menu and above average prices – but for my daughter and I, who’ve been coming here for a decade now every Christmas, it’ll always be steeped in some of that Christmas magic. They're one of the few places open on the 25th and probably the best in... More

Ultimately disappointing. The decor is dated, the lentil vegetable soup was over salted and the veal piccata came with 2 small pieces and one potato slice. Service was attentive but considering all the great Italian in Toronto will never go back.

On Saturday evening we were attending a special event near Yorkville. As we often do before heading out, we scouted several nearby restaurants, to find a nice restaurant where we could kick off the evening with a special dinner. We thought we had found such a place in Vaticano's - we were wrong. We were seated in a very small... More

Living in Toronto you tend to stick to restaurants that you're familiar with, but I've decided to change that and start going to new place that have existed for a very very long time!! Like for this place The Vaticano in Yorkville has been around for as long as I can remember. This placed has hosted some of the A... More

I have taken many business Clients (bankers) to Vaticano over the years, always over priced but usually worth it. However my last visit was catostrophic. The lights were so dim we could barely See each other nevermind our paperwork or food... Which should have been a sign AS what was coming.... The service was atrocious. No eye contact, no cheerfulness.... More

We were a group of seven and had a reservation. The setting of this restaurant is quite good with the tables apart enough from each other and no loud music to allow easy conversation. We shared three different bruschettas (plain, with cheese and with mushrooms). All were very good, especially the mushroom one. Some of the entrees we had were... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
