My family was quite pleased with the food and the service provided at this restaurant. While it is a bit on the pricey side, you definitely get what you pay for. They have an awesome wine cellar with some very interesting picks and a sommelier who is quite skilled at pairing your dinner with an exceptional wine! We will definitely... More

My family came here to enjoy a lovely meal on a Friday eve. Not too busy before 6pm, but I would suggest reservations after 6:30. Loved our Escargots app, unusual, different preparation. The Porcelet with sauerkraut and pickles was super tender and an amazing flavor, extremely refined dish. My mussels dish was a new style for me, with kalamata olives... More

This is an absolute gem right smack in the middle of downtown Toronto. Walking distance from Union station and a step away from St. Lawrence Market...it is truly awesome. The menu is wonderful, and offers something for every palate. I enjoyed the 3 course prix fixe menu (chicken liver parfait, beef bourguignon and sorbet for dessert) and must say if... More

Birthday celebration dinner for my husband and daughter. Loved the atmosphere/decor. The food was impressive (had their flat iron steak, cooked perfectly.. and those frites (fries) are amazing; trout; oysters). Beer, cocktails and juices were first class. Our server Ryan was amazing, made us feel very special with his attentiveness and service. A nice touch at the end - shortbread... More

We stopped at Biff's Bistro for appetizers and drinks. Our server Michael was exceptional! My husband and I had great Caesars, specialty coffees and oysters - all were delicious! I guess I mentioned it was my birthday and a lovely dessert tray was brought out. Next time we will be staying for dinner. I would definitely recommend for drinks and... More

Had a good meal at Biff's last night. Very disappointed with the creme brule. If I had made it like this, I would consider it unacceptable. Warm and runny. Next time make it in advance and firm it up a bit. Otherwise, decent service and very good meal.

Good food presented in a creative ways. I enjoyed the experience and atmosphere. I attended with a large group having cocktails and dinner in a private room and would recommend to others to use the space.

Met people for dinner a few nights ago. The waiter just completed his Sommelier course. Very helpful and truly enjoyed talking about wines. Ordered the combined Charcuterie board to share. Unfortunately it was a little lacking in the cheese area. The salumi were made in house but lacked any taste. Main was the Beef Bourguignon. It was actually a nice... More

This was my first time here and I brought a friend for Winterlicious Dinner. I started with the spiced chicken pastilla parcels, the maple mustard pork croquette and the chocolate cake. I also did the wine pairings. I will say that the service was excellent as was the wine pairing, the bread and the dessert. My app was terrible, in... More

Reminiscent of a 1930's Parisian Bistro, Biff's Bistro is a smart, upscale masterpiece by Toronto uber-restaurateurs Peter Oliver and Michael Bonacini. The stylish lounge, featuring a stunning zinc-topped bar, represents pure vintage design, while handsome leather banquettes, warm wood paneling and grand mirrors create a rich, lively dining space. In this setting, Chef Amanda Ray presents an extensive menu of inspiring French bistro cuisine, with an impressive corresponding wine list. Located in the heart of downtown, just steps away from many downtown theatres, hotels and the Air Canada Centre.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
