We had a mid-afternoon snack at the bar. Kids loved the pizza and the tabouleh salad was perfect for my husband and I to share. Breakfast buffet the next morning was wonderful. Lots of great choices and fresh.

We dropped in early in the evening because Hemispheres is in the same hotel where we were staying (Double Tree by Hilton). The staff was great and our Vegan meal was very good.

Food was OK - nothing exceptional, and was quite expensive. Given the really great variety of quality eateries/cafes/restaurants that are within short walking distance - skip this place for something really great.

As I was staying at the Double Tree Hotel, I had breakfast there one morning. The restaurant itself was very nice, clean and bright. The service was extremely slow but the server was not unpleasant at all. Food was nothing special however it was way overpriced for breakfast. Although I'd have no objections to eating there again, I would definitely... More

Decided to stay in hotel to eat as I had a bunch of work to do. The breakfast buffet this morning was ok. The dinner was ok and the atmosphere was decent. The appetizers were very good and the meal was substandard.

Hemispheres is the in-house restaurant of the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel on Chestnut Street in downtown Toronto. It is just south of Dundas Street about halfway between University Avenue and Bay Street, not far from City Hall. Hemispheres goes back to the days when the DoubleTree was known as the Metropolitan. Hemispheres is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It... More

This restaurant has it all, good food, friendly staff, and great atmosphere. Wonderful spot to stop for just drinks or enjoy a nice dinner.

We had the Thai curry and Chinese noodle stir fry. Both were very good and served nice and hot. Our server was very personable and accommodating to our needs.

Came for dinner and waited about 40 min for it to arrive. Guest next to me said she had waited 45. This isn't luxury dining for gosh sakes. Service was adequate.

Had breakfast here and wasn't bad. Dinner was a chicken curry which took over a half hour which was unexpected. Located in the ground floor of the Doubletree, a nice option when you don't want to walk somewhere for food.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
