last time i walked by it was closed down/paper over the windows. thats sad. it was a good restaurant. good food, relaxed environment, decent service. once a month a group of friends go out and hand out sandwiches/socks/water to the homeless community around Allan Gardens/Moss Park/George St (Seaton House). Afterwards, we'd often go to this restaurant for drinks. dinner, a... More

Club sandwich was quick and tasty. Service was friendly. Not expensive for a roadhouse restaurant in Downtown Toronto. We will return.

What a great surprise! We never expect much from a hotel restaurant but this was different. Starting off with a delicious French Onion Soup and some spinach dip before diving into our entrees. They prepared the Pickerel to near perfection. The shrimp tacos looked small on arrival but were quite filling for me. The seared salmon again proved these people... More

The staff was really friendly. We stayed at the Toronto Grand Hotel, which is not in the greatest area. I was told this restaraunt was nice and we could see it from our hotel and walk there. We had shrimp, steak, etc. The food was really good. It was a bit pricey but, for the quality of the food, it was... More

We walked in last night tired and hungry. It was more than a few minutes until we were acknowledged by any one. Finally seated. Several minutes waiting for menus. Table next to us were filling the air with profanity. Finally ordered two beers and after waiting ten more minutes without the beer, hearing the disgusting language fill the air, we... More

I am not sure if our waiter was having a bad day, but he needs diversity, sensitivity, and customer service training. He was rude, condescending, and since our service was so horrible, we did not leave him a tip. I will never dine at this facility again, the service was horrible....absolutely horrible.

We ate here the first night we arrived in Toronto because it was close to our hotel. The food wasn't fantastic but there were lots of choices for a family. I would compare it to Applebee's in the States.

I liked everything, especially how genuinely friendly staff were. I had shrimp tacos and a veggie burger and it was deeeeeeeee-licious and all delivered by smiling and accommodating staff.

Thank John B

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
