Pretty simple space, clean and open. There are a few appetizers but it's all about the pizza here, many, many choices. The Margherita is great, so simple, the true test of a pizzeria. One of my favorites is Arugula and Prosciutto. White sauce pizza too!

My husband and I had a list of 3 places in Toronto that have been certified by the Neapolitan pizza board (or something like that) "VOP" as having bona fide Margherita and Marinara pizzas made just as they would be in Naples. We came here on a Tuesday night, with 4 or 5 other tables (they probably seat about 50)... More

Really yummy pizza. The focus is on the food. The staff is friendly, the wine prices are very reasonable, and you get free ice cream at the end of the meal.

Went here again on the weekend and it did not disappoint. This is quite possibly the best pizza I have had in Toronto and maybe even the best I've had outside of Italy. If you like thin crust Italian pizza, this is the place to go. Prices are a bit high, but the food is well worth it. Service is... More

Food is fine, but the service was horrible. The owner, who initially I just found creepy. Then, I saw a dark side of him. He became anger when he was asked for a receipt. I was a regular customer and he claimed I didn't pay for an order two month previous. First time he mentioned, despite me coming in every... More

Excellent pizza...probably the best crust/dough we've ever tried! Thin in the middle, not soggy, soft and chewy on the edges, not burnt. Great pizza topping combinations. We Appreciated that there are a number of options for white pizzas. Eggplant parmigiana was absolutely terrific as well. Service was good. Lovely dessert was provided on the house to all. We will be... More

I ended up at Viva Napoli because my original destination for dinner with my sisters-and-mother-in-law was closed. (A huge sinkhole at Yonge and Eglinton had caused a power outage, so our original destination was open but without air-conditioning. That's a show-stopper when it comes to the women in my family!) Luckily, Viva Napoli was able to accommodate our reservation, with... More

The pizza here is amazing! It's soft crust pizza at it's best. The decor is nice and the staff are helpful. My only complaint is that it can get a bit loud and conversation is challenging as a result.

This small and charming restaurant (but a little too noisy as most recently renovated restaurants in Toronto) serves wonderful pizzas which for once remind one of the real thing. This must be due to the ingredients they use which are as near as possible to the original ones, It was a real pleasure

The good news is that the pizzas really are excellent, though on the pricey side (the Funghi misti is particularly good). The bad news is that, on a weekend night at least, you can wait for quite a while before your order gets taken. Only one person, a large man wearing a hipster hat whom I take to be the... More

Staying in North End

Neighbourhood Profile
North End
The North End is a nucleus of specialty food restaurants and shops, especially around its Mount Pleasant Village area. Frequented by antiquers for its numerous collectable shops, furniture spots, and oddity stores, the North End is a maverick of the quaint and quality. Vintage toy stores, accessory shops, and cinemas welcome perusers to step back in time, while the wide pedestrian squares and the large medical and business community inject it with a dose of modernity. With numerous cafes and Toronto's greatest number of independent booksellers, it isn't uncommon to see folks in this area at their leisure, reading outdoors and in eateries, and taking life a bit more slowly – even if it's only during their lunch break.
