We will never return to The Kennedy Public House. Had been there many times previously, thought it was just okay, but far too overpriced generally. Went Friday night, ordered our drinks that took forever & once arrived one was not served as asked. Were told once the drinks arrived that they were having a kitchen issue and we couldn't order... I went out for my birthday with a few friends. Was a wonderful evening. I had reserved our table online and requested a quiet table. We got our table. The staff was very friendly and we had a very helpful and friendly waitress. The food costs abit more but the quality was worth the price. I ordered Pizza which was... More

This is based on my most recent visit mid Feb 2017 but I have eaten here a few times so I feel okay giving this review as fair. This is a shame because Bloor West needs more good restaurants but at the same time it has to cater to the locals because Bloor West is NOT a destination for food... More

The Kennedy is in a cool part of town. But the Pub isn't so great- maybe the dinner is better. We loved the curry appetizer! But the rest of the food was just okay. The plates looked fancy and had a nice presentation, but the food was just average. My French toast was cold. And the potato egg dish was... More

My friend and I walked out and left the restaurant after being lectured by one of the waitstaff of how they "eun" things in their restaurant. We asked two other staff if we can move to the next empty table after the other guests left. They said yes it was okay, and so we moved. Then this rude staff came... More

We went back for what must be third visit because we had good experiences in the past. Not so this time. We went at around 100 pm on a Saturday.Even though they have a limited menu, we had to change food choices twice because they were out of some of the ingredients. Okay its not Cuba but we went along.... More

The Kennedy is a local hangout, with a great location and patio. The specials keep us coming back, but to be honest, the service and food can be quite variable. They are also quite disorganized if you want a reservation. That said, if you walk in off the street on a hot day, and get drinks and appetizers on the... More

We went out for dinner, the server handed us menus but neglected to ask us for drinks. Sensing she wouldn't, I blurted out an order for myself and she walked away and ignored my wife. I tried to order the chicken wings and they were out, strange that the kitchen wasn't ready for the weekend. My meal went to the... More

It looks like an inviting place from the outside, and when you go inside the décor and everything looks nice enough. It's when we sat down that we started to see and feel the dead air in the place. I was with a friend and we sat at the bar where we were coldly greeted by a robotic bar tender.... More

Chose this restaurant based on reviews and it did not disappoint. Palette pleasing beer selection, wine on point, food cooked to perfection. Staff friendly and attentive. We had a lovely evening but look forward to coming back in colder weather and enjoying the winter indoor ambience as well. Bit pricey for a random meal, but you are in Bloor West... More

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
The go-to area for new business start-ups, the spry and creative persona of the West End thrives along its streets. Its independent boutiques, galleries, restaurants, and shops offer brands that can't be found elsewhere. Buildings with ground floor consumer spaces sport up-top artist's lofts, and the West End attracts artists, designers, and fashion industry professionals to its living quarters. It is in the cross-hairs of gentrification, but still resisting it with ironic relish. Hot deals can still be found here on furniture and knick-knacks,. Its call to culinary glory is in its well-priced homemade Polish food, hosting Toronto's go-to spots for hot pierogis and cold borscht. High Park, the largest green space in the city, is a place for dreamers and poets to wander and rest, not to mention a number of energetic actors staging outdoor plays in the summertime.
