We visit this location at least once a month, the food is delicious, hot on arrival, generous serving, it's consistent in taste too. Recommend: Everything except the chicken kabobs & chaplee kabobs, the texture & taste not to our liking. The beef & chicken tikka are the best, the chicken tandoori was surprising very spicy. The menus seem to have... More

Traditional Afghan cuisine...the lamb chops are simply amazing, so delicious! Fresh baked naan, and a spicy salsa that I could just drink! The rice they serve is spiced lightly and has a wonderful taste and aroma. The restaurant is unpretentious and relaxed, with fantastic staff. Highly recommend any of the combos - the chicken and lamb dishes are my favorites,... More

Came with a group of friends for lunch. Well-priced dishes and lunch combos. Servers and cashiers were attentive and effective even given the large lunch-time crowd. This place attracts a lot of people during lunch from nearby businesses, and for the right reasons - warm delicious, well-priced food. Enough seats in the restaurant for everyone, but take-away is a good... More

Great beef tikka dinner with qabuli rice topping, salad and naan. Very tender pieces of beef and the rice was just awesome topped with grated carrots and raisins. Not sure if this restaurant has any ties with Afghan Cusine if Regina. Both are great.

We tried some take out from Afghan Cuisine on Overlea Boulevard today. The Lamb Shank and Tandoori Chicken breast dinners were both great! The naan was warm and the red sauce was a spicy treat. All finished off with a Firnee (Afghan pudding) dessert.

My father-in-law is in from out of town so we went to the Aga Khan Museum (worth a trip - see my separate review) and were hungry, so we call came to this restaurant. Very clean and nicely decorated. DELICIOUS food. There were 6 of us so we got a selection of appetizers (loved the egg plant) and main courses.... More

We visited this restaurant with clients for a business lunch -- the food is fresh and homemade. Great value for your dollar. Pleasant staff and a very arabic/canadian flavor to the decor. We will come back to this place for supper. And it will be added to our list of favorite places to eat on a weekly basis. Lunch price... More

I always come here for the shawarma. You can do take out or stay to enjoy the meal because the restaurant is very nice. They have a nice menu but I highly recommend their shawarma! Affordable and great food!

Staying in East York

Neighbourhood Profile
East York
East York includes a portion of old, industrial Toronto. Densely populated but incredibly safe, it boasts some of the city's earliest gardens and gardening clubs, attracting green thumbs everywhere. The tranquility of the Don Valley River area, which is rich with Toronto's oldest and tallest forests, is supplemented by the large ensemble of authentic and refurbished Edwardian homes, giving parts of East York allure. The other draw is for foodies: lovers of Bangladeshi fare will find authentic restaurants and markets in the area, with raw spices and desserts. East York also represents a lot of Toronto's Serbian food culture, and recently, has had an outcropping of solid microbrewery stops. For families, the science center is a favored weekend stop.
