Ramen Raijin has relocated to 24 Wellesley West, hidden in a small residential street at the back of the building of Rabba's convenience store. I came here on their opening weekend. The new location has a nice open space, with communal style seating in the middle and tables around the sides. Overall it is smaller than the old location, and... More

Very close to Eaton Centre, this places seems small when you walk in but they have a large seating area in the back. We went as a group of four and ordered quite a few starters between us as well as their ramen. Their ramen comes in three sizes, small, medium or large. The small ramen is quite huge and... More

This place has got all the good things about a great ramen. Perfect noodles, savory broth and fresh extras (eggs, garnish, etc). Everything is made to order and there are so many choices. The hardest part is choosing because everything is delicious! The staff also yells hello when you walk in and goodbye when you leave.

I had the Gyokai Tonkotsu Shoyu. A blend of 5 soy sauces mixed with Tonkotsu soup. I really liked it, it was interesting and new, but also delicious and similar to Ramen classics. If you love Ramen and are in Toronto, this place is worth a visit!

Good attempt at a vegetarian ramen but despite the red colour it was on the really bland side, great bowl size (+ presentation) and lots of veggies though. Luckily, I got mochi with sweet soy sauce and seaweed as an appetizer that was warm, chewy and very flavorful!

From the greeting as you entered to the thank you when you leave you are left with a typically Japanese warm feeling. The tonkatsu ramen is full of umami! I also thought that the gyoza were nicely fried and flavourful.

Good ramen, ok soup base and relaxed environment which is very child-friendly. Torontonians like creative ways to enjoy ramen, but it doesn't take creativity for ramen to be great...we stick to what we've liked and rarely sample other flavours. A small canteen style shop on site also.

Wandered across RAIJIN on our way to another Ramen place on a cold day. Authentic homemade noodles and tasty broths masterfully served. So good we visited twice in one weekend.

I went on a November Wedesday evening and the restaurant was near full. I was the only westerner that i could see in the restaurant. Some would say that means good asian food although I don't know till I taste. I sat at a bar type table. My gyoza was good. Crispy on the outside and tasty and soft on... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
