This is in deep downtown. Corner of Yonge and Richmond. A small place, you must reserve. The mushroom soup was top notch and the proem dish was exquisite. My wife's burger and fries were wonderful. The wine list is good but pricey.

We were a party of six (Me, my girl friend and two other couples) and had booked a few days in advance. We shared starters and deserts and enjoyed our main choices from the limited menu. The place was crowded because, I guess, there are others who enjoy good cooking with fresh ingredients. If you appreciate well prepared fresh ingredients... More

Made a reservation after we'd checked in at the Hilton and decided to go somewhere we could walk to. Richmond Station was as described ambiance, service and food were excellent [the holy trinity for any resteraunt]. The only slip up was dessert just two much happening in one plate. I'm sure we'll be back and will offer our praises to... More

There's a reason the Richmond Station is the number four restaurant in Toronto. Local fresh ingredients, innovative cooking, great staff, alive every night. Limited menu but a great meal every time. Reservations are tough here - they like to navigate two sittings, so you'll have to take an early slot or a later slot. Very few seven PM slots here.

We were told to arrive at 5:00 pm for a seat at the high table at the front and we were seated successfully. However, it was somewhat disconcerting to watch three other parties who ordered after us receive their meals before we did. The food was excellent, but 45 minutes was an excessive wait for even the best meal.

The seating is tight, but enjoyed the atmosphere. We sat in front of the kitchen and it was actually entertaining observing the food prep and interactions of the staff. Our server kept up with my high intake of water and wine, very attuned to our needs. The food was unique and the wine selection was quite good. This is the... More

I have had three meals here. The table service is spotty. Had some great service and other occasions sat for 10 minutes after food service waiting for cutlery. Food is inconsistent. Had some really great meals and others were just rather disappointing. Was here for my birthday and had the Cornish hen which was unexciting with rather dull sides. It... More

We were sited immediately. There were no line ups at five. The restaurant quickly filled up and there were people waiting. The servers were very polite explaining the different dishes in detail. The menu has something for everyone. I'm always worried because I'm a vegetarian but there was plenty to choose from. The restaraunt is modern but they have preserved... More

I've dined here on various occasions over the past few years and find the food to be inconsistent. The atmosphere isn't conducive for a business lunch or dinner as tables are placed within inches of each other. More importantly, the value is declining - $14 for a small "caesar salad" that turned out to be a disappointing pile of shredded... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
