Anthony Bourdain refers to these kinds of AYCE outfits as 'utility sushi'. Here, unagi (eel) items are only available on the dinner menu. Service is prompt, even when the place is packed---this is a very popular eatery with local students. One finds the washrooms after a bit of an adventure, but decent signage helps with that search. The restaurant location... More

This was my second visit years after first; service to my surprise was in fact improved, food did not take as long to come and servers were more responsive. Still cannot call it great service though. Food wise - sushi and sashimi were absolutely the typical below average AYCE food quality, The cooked stuffs took the cake though - it... More

Really well done Japanese food, with good variety of hots and colds. Order by unit of each speciality, so no overloading. All you can eat for a more than fair price.

The food is mediocre. Nobody cleans the empty plates on your table even if you tell somebody. There is a guy walking back and forth, not sure if the owner but he is useless. Not sure why he is walking back and forth doing nothing. Bad image for the restaurant. Sushi slices are small. You have to constantly call them... More

This place was packed, which I guess is a good sign. The servers were great, service was quick and friendly. It's all you can eat sushi for 20$ dinner. Lunch is probably half that. Lots to choose from in the buffet menu, but I would have liked to wait a bit longer to have my sushi rolled tighter; some of... More

I went for a quick lunch with co-workers expecting a reasonable "all you can eat" Japanese restaurant. Good points: - Good location - If you want to eat a lot not paying much, ok it may be the place - Diversity of basic dishes. Bad points: - First impression: I noticed the sticky and dirty floor (carpet) as soon as... More

Will keep it short and sweet - if you're looking for quick/cheap/relatively decent AYCE sushi then this is the place to go. I've visited (2 of us) about 3-4 times in the past couple years and nothing compares to the first time. Service has gone downhill since day 1. Last and most recent time was a few days ago and... Well, very good and cheap sushis. Lot of fresh fish and avocados. 12$ for lunch and 20$ for dinner. I really like it. But the service isn't really good... There is a lot of waitress, wich is good. But please... learn to smile !

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
