Chose F'Ameila because of good word of mouth reviews. The decor is a little rough around the edges needing some repairs. The chairs were loose and wobbly and washroom stall doors had to be forced closed to engage the previously repaired gate latch. I get the charm of rustic but definitely in need of some repair. The fixed prix mothers... More

Five of us had dinner here and we were all very satisfied with the meal. We started by sharing a pizza for our appetizer and it was wonderful. I had the beef and risotto special and the sauce was perfect. My wife had the lasagna and she was very happy with it. We had a lemon cake for dessert and... More

This is a cozy restaurant on a tree lined street in one of the oldest parts of Toronto. The wine list is quite extensive and a bit pricey but the Pinot Grigio we had was very nice. The menu is mostly pastas and pizzas with lots of choices for any diners. The atmosphere is casual and the staff is friendly... More

This is a lovely restaurant. Great to come to a nice restaurant on a residential street, which lends it such charm. We could be in Montreal, which is old enough to have come before the banality of today's planning that forces some areas to be purely retail, and others strictly residential. That's one nice thing -- the local residential charm. The... More

We came for a Sunday brunch. We always love the old and warm decor, and in particular the dehors when open. We tried the excellent Greek yougurt with homemade granola and berries. The fried gnocchi with eggs benedicts was very good, the bernaise sauce quite light and not overbearing. Both the montanara pizza (prosciutto di parma, grana) and the cacciatore... More

Don't order any wine here. They regularly pour a few ounces less than what you ordered, and it isn't cheap. Food is not as good as it used to be either. Very soupy risotto Serving staff have a lot of attitude as well.

We went to celebrate a friend's birthday. Service was great ( equal to the first time there ), the wine options were good as was the food. The place was busy and we sat in one of the quieter side rooms which suited us perfectly.

WE had not been in ages. Friendly staff with a good food and beverage selection. The soups are large and hearty. We all had different entrees. Well spiced and nicely presented. All were well received.

Pretty and chill place. Warm and festive atmosphere in an old house...and the food was fabulous. Two of us had the wonderful pappardelle with rabbit and two had pizza (4 cheeses, lamb ragu special)...they were the most perfect pizza... thin and tasty crust, and the perfect amount of ingredients on top. Service was excellent. Look forward to our next visit.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
