I went there on February 21 eager to watch Europe League game between Liverpool and Zenit at 3pm. I'm rather some sort of a 'crazy fan', cheering loudly for my favourite team, and in past December I was surprised when female-waitress kindly suggested to "Let it out! Don't keep it within yourself - you're at the right place to do... More

We were heading for Italian when I spotted this pub just north of Davisville on the west side of Yonge. None of us had ever ate there so we gave it a try. We ordered one of the daily specials, hot beef with yorkshire pudding, flat bread pizza and the soup. All of it was presented well and was quite... More

The Twisted Kilt is located on Yonge just a few steps north of the Davisville subway station. Stepping inside is to leave the bustle of Yonge behind and enter a little bit of Britain in Canada. Lots of dark wood, floral pattern upholstery, gleaming brass fittings on the bar, and lots of beer taps await the visitor. There is a... More

There has been a pub at this location for many years now. Originally it was called the Bow & Arrow. It was fabulous, a real British pub in midtown Toronto. The food was way better than your average pub grub, aw well, and they had real ale on their hand pumps. Then it changed hands twice and the quality gradually... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
